Updating review to respond to company’s response: The issue is I wasn’t even able to try anything nor was I even given the opportunity to order. Nobody was at the cash register to ensure everyone knew the process , but instead took one person’s order than went to prepare their order as several of us stood idle at the cash register for so long. The fact that more people continued to come in and nobody stopped to say we will be with you in a moment made me and others believe we are suppose to continue moving like a conveyor belt. It was honestly unprofessional and ridiculous. Even after knowing they didn’t assist me and I was clearly next in line, they went to the people behind me. Seems like it is a common occurrence when you don’t have the complexion of priority based on similar reviews. Thanks for the offer, but I will not be returning. First impressions are lasting impressions.
Very poor customer service, no organization and undesirable first impression and the more I think about it, could be a prejudice or a bit racially motivated. Took family to try and it was almost as if I was invisible and there was no clear method to the madness. The customer service was nonexistent and the lines moved as if it was a buffet line but that’s not how it’s supposed to be, but because there isn’t anyone actually at the cash register to take order THEN prepare the order you are just following what everyone else is doing because they are also confused.
After a few moments of being overlooked, the employee finally acknowledges me after taking a customer behind me instead of asking “have you been helped?” The employee also snickered after realizing I am confused by her nonchalance after she went from cashier to making a dessert that the other employee could have done or that free employee could have been on the register. It was ridiculous. After taking the customers that came on long after me, she then suggested I go back to the cash register to pay them come and pick out the gelato. What? How are you supposed to see the flavors AFTER payment? Russian Roulette with the gelato and hop you find something you like since you go in blind. It makes absolutely no sense Lol we were then told that you pay before even knowing what you want. They don’t have much to see, but too much at the same time. They have actual desserts including waffles and things you don’t see by walking in, but you’ll never know that because nobody is really asking. The flavors of the gelato is after you pay and their other offerings are unknown. They have an array of sizes, but nothing even makes sense lol. The menu is chaotic and so is the process of even choosing your desired dessert. It was beyond overwhelming from start to finish because their process takes way too long for a building line so long you just end up leaving. I would likely...
Read moreAfter a horrible experience on our first trip to Amorino’s, we gave it another try this week. Located in the upscale area of Clearfork, this gelato shop is beautifully decorated and very popular place on the weekends! While I still MUCH prefer Joy’s Macaroons and Ice Cream Sandwiches over Amorino’s Gelato, it’s might be worth a stop if you enjoy Gelato.
Warning: Before I proceed, I have a warning… they will let you try as many flavor samples as you’d like, BUT they won’t allow you to exchange your Gelato if it’s inedible like the “Coffee” flavor which is extremely black, bitter and unsweet! The Coffee Gelato is so bad that they admitted they should warn people when they order it. I lost out on $9.00 worth of Gelato because I didn’t ask for a sample and I didn’t ask if it was sweet vs bitter. You’re a professional Gelato oeficionado after reading my review and you won’t make that mistake! I was so offended by the way they handled the situation several years ago with the Coffee Gelato that I threw it away in front of them and it kept me from not going back until this weekend.
The petal shaped Gelato presentation atop the cone is perfectly Instagram-able, but can also be enjoyed straight from a cup if you’re counting calories. They let you pick multiple flavors of gelato, so no need to worry about missing out on other flavors! I got the cone and my husband chose the cup, but we both picked three different flavors of Gelato.
Our order: I enjoyed Pistachio, Coconut and Tiramisu and he chose Pistachio, Stracciatella and Tiramisu. You can add a Macaroon to your Gelato for an additional fee. Not in the mood for Gelato? They also offer Crepes, Waffles, Macaroons, Gelato drinks and hot drinks like Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate and Cappuccino’s.
Pros: The option to try before you buy is a great way to decide which flavors you like and save you money on mistakes. They offer both inside seating and a small patio area for seating.
Cons: Parking is almost impossible in front of the store, so allow enough time to park in the parking garage and walk to the store. They definitely charge top dollar for their Gelato and drinks, so prepare to spend about $15.00 for two Gelato’s + a tip since you can’t go anywhere without someone expecting one anymore for a basic service that should be covered by the price. I will 100% chose Joy’s Macaroons over this place EVERY day of the year and do not...

One of my personal favorites is the classic Stracciatella, with its perfect balance of velvety chocolate chips and creamy, sweet base. The refreshing taste of their fruit sorbets, like the Mango and Raspberry, are an absolute must-try as well. The texture of their gelato is exceptionally smooth and rich, undoubtedly a testament to the high-quality ingredients and traditional Italian techniques employed.
