Hello everyone, here to give an honest review. First things first, this restaurant is supposed to have a good breakfast/ brunch. The reviews made me drive an hour to visit. The reviews here are off the wall. This restaurant isn't the southern that I thought it would be but it's still a great restaurant. The food looks better in pictures than it tastes, that's for sure. The flavor of the food is barely mid. Even while being in the restaurant all the food looks appetizing but flavor is lacking. I can only speak for the dishes that I had. I had the deviled eggs, etoufee and the fried chicken and famous biscuit. To begin, the bartender made me a wonderful lychee drink. This drink was top notch, not cheap tasting at all and pretty strong. I didn't drink it all, but it was wonderful. The service was good but she made one mistake that I didn't want to give her a hard time and I still tipped her well. She was supposed to put the honey sauce on the side and when she brought the food with the sauce on the chicken, I brought it to her attention and she used a quick excuse, I let it go. I had driven too far to make a big deal out of it but I wasn't happy about that. So that was already a damper as I was very clear that I don't like spicy but I ate it anyway. So, if you are a person who isn't big on seasonings, if you are a salt and pepper on your chicken is good enough for you, then this is the place for you. Before I ordered, I asked the waitress if the chicken was like popeyes good and she said yes. LIE. The chicken had no seasoning (afterwards she admitted that it wasn't seasoned well... then why weren't you honest before i ordered it??? LOL, WHATEVER). Their fried chicken relies on the spicy honey sause for flavor and that's the truth. So if you like well seasoned chicken, you won't get that here. The sauce that came with the brocolini I ordered tasted a bit funky, didn't care for it. The deviled eggs had great texture and tanginess but you could tell something was missing from the flavor. All the flavors in the food that I ate here were very light. There wasn't any bringing home of flavor and kick. I wanted that. I wanted to be impressed, I simply wasn't. The reviews let me down. The famous biscuit they have are fresh and the texture was good, then again, the butter and was slack. The texture was nice flavor was light. I have had better biscuits, for example a restaurant called Root and Bone in Miami had the best biscuit I ever tasted. The biscuit here at Luxe was the main thing they did right. If this is Southern cooking.... it is light southern cooking. If you have a restaurant that you say is Southern, especially in the title, some people expect some seasoning and soul to be in the food, there is no soul in this food and barely seasoning, atleast in the fried chicken. I'm just giving my honest opinion. I thought there would be more in the flavor department, I was let down. The etoufee...they put cheese in it. Cheese doesn't go in etouffe, tasting this was almost insulting. It had spice, but no flavor. I guess everyone is allowed to put their own spin on food, people have a right to be creative, don't get me wrong, I'm not mad at it, I'm sure some people love it. I did not love it. The vibes here are nice. The restaurant was clean, the decor was so beautiful, I enjoyed the cutlery and the glasses, good quality. I just wanted to let you all know...

From the moment I stepped into Fixed Southern House, we were enveloped by an ambiance that effortlessly blended Southern charm with modern elegance. The warm lighting, rustic wooden accents, and soft music humming in the background created an inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you instantly know you’re in for something special and are at home.
The service was nothing short of exceptional. Manager Kai greeted us with genuine warmth and a contagious enthusiasm for the restaurant. He came to our table frequently with a friendly demeanor and truly engaging conversations elevated the experience, making us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. The waitstaff, attentive without being intrusive, ensured every need was met with a smile.
The menu, curated by Executive Chef Sal Diaz Barriga and his talented crew, was a love letter to Southern cuisine with a contemporary twist. The options catered to every palate, from classic comfort dishes to inventive creations for adventurous eaters. Each plate was a work of art—vibrant, meticulously plated, and bursting with the freshness of high-quality ingredients. The beet salad, pictured below, looked great and tasted even better. The biscuits are to...die...for!!!! The biscuits come with home made butter, home made preserves, and local honey. WOW!!!!!! For the meal, we had the ribeye, filet mignon, and halibut were prepared to perfection. For the sides we shar. ed the grits and broccolini. OH MAN! Even the pickiest eaters in our group found something to rave about.
The bar deserves its own applause, boasting an extensive and superb selection of bourbons that could satisfy any connoisseur. You must have an old fashion and/or honey badger drink. Savor a perfectly crafted bourbon cocktail which pairs beautifully with the meal. It adds to the evening’s indulgence!
Every bite, sip, and moment at Fixed Southern House was addicting—aptly named, as it left me craving my next “fix.” Chef Sal and his team have created something truly remarkable, and Kai’s hospitality sealed the deal. I’m already counting down the days until I return. This is Southern dining at its finest.
BTW, have some of the home made hot sauce!

Fixe Southern House is a fantastic option if you’re looking for a Southern dining experience in the DFW area, especially for larger groups. They were able to accommodate our party easily and made the entire experience smooth from start to finish. The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations that really enhanced our meal.
The food overall was impressive. The biscuits are a must-try — they came out hot, fresh, buttery, and full of rich flavor, truly setting the tone for the meal. The Brussels sprouts were decent, although they didn’t quite match up to the ones at Cut & Bourbon in Arlington, which are a bit more flavorful. Still, they were prepared well and made a good starter.
We had several dishes and were pleased with almost everything. The halibut topped with blue crab was fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious. The salads were crisp, creative, and satisfying. The pork chop was another standout — massive in size, very well-seasoned, juicy, and definitely enough to feed two people. It’s a hearty and flavorful option if you’re looking for something filling and shareable.
One of the most memorable items we tried was the lobster and crawfish pot pie. This dish is unique to the DFW area and absolutely worth ordering — rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s not something you’ll easily find elsewhere and really showcases the kitchen’s creativity.
Another major plus is the location. Fixe Southern House is conveniently placed next to a movie theater, bowling alley, shopping, and several beautifully designed spaces, making it an ideal spot for a full day out. You can easily make a whole afternoon or evening around your meal here, and the atmosphere both inside and outside the restaurant is vibrant and welcoming.
Overall, Fixe Southern House delivers a really good dining experience with quality service, standout dishes, and a great setting. It’s a strong 4-star restaurant that we definitely recommend trying if you’re in the area — and we’ll absolutely be back to explore more...
