Having been a patron of Boopa's bagels for 13 years I can now confidently say that the Boopa's I knew and loved is dead. This is a new Boopa's that is not that bad for what it is, but comparing it to what it was it's just really saddening and hard not to really harbor resentment towards. I used to stock up on Boopa's about twice a month and over the course of time I moved further away so my visits became less frequent but the downfall as I see it pretty much occurred like this: 1. The loss of Holly. 2. The end of the mega bagel bundle Groupon deal (they were essentially half priced if you bought the Groupon) 3. Increase of prices to be a _lot_ higher 4. And as I found today, a decline in the quality of the food The kolaches we got today were so oversized for the sausage they contained, and the outside of them was so extremely tough and dry, to the point that they are actually difficult to eat. The inside of the bagels themselves is also more cakey and flakey in a less pleasant way with a more tough exterior as well. I had really high hopes after the closure last year that when they reopened it would be back to the same great Boopa's it used to be, but that is just not the case. Heartbreaking really, but it's time for me to give up I guess.

They finally reopened after so long! I was so sad and depressed for the past couple of months when I wasn’t able to satisfy my cravings for their lox bagel. What was life? The anticipation paid off. I devoured this in 5 minutes and I’m a pretty slow eater. So you know what that tells you. The staff are always welcoming and take the time out to answer any questions you have. They just renovated so the place looks much nicer. I usually don’t eat bagel, but Boopa’s bagel hits differently. If you haven’t had their bagels, what are you waiting for?? They’re one of the best bagel shop in DFW! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5

I stopped in around 10am this morning for an everything bagel with garlic cream cheese. I was excited to try Boopa’s because I saw that they have NY style bagels. The bagel was delicious, fresh and chewy and the garlic cream cheese was great. The store was pretty busy with pickup orders but I still placed and received my order within about 5 minutes total and the staff was friendly. I was excited to see the large variety of bagels and look forward for to trying the Boopalaches and sandwiches on a future visit! If you enjoy NY style bagels, you should definitely give it a try.

I've been going here at least once a week for years now for breakfast. They have some of my favorite breakfast items period. I stopped in today and had an experience that reminded me why I love Boopas so much. They were incredibly busy, had multiple catering and door-dash order. MANY of the kolachies and bagels were out, but that didn’t deter the staff one bit. In the midst of taking and preparing orders the staff members that were working were still making bagels and coffee as fast as they could to replenish what was out. Rather than just filling orders with “something else” they were contacting the online and catering orders to inform them what they were out of and asking what they would like it replaced with. It very much seemed like they were short a staff member, or two, for a busy Friday morning – at one point another worker arrived, asked what needed to be done AS she was clocking in and immediately started checking customers out and pouring coffee for people waiting. Normally I am in and out within about 5 minutes, today took closer to 15 because of how busy it was. I was tired and did not really want to wait this morning – BUT, in classic Boopas fashion, every single employee in the restaurant was working as fast as they could to get orders out, still communicating pleasantly with both each other and the customers despite how behind they must have felt, and EVERY customer was still being greeted and communicated to with the utmost respect and sincerity. The customer service here is always top notch, but on busy days like today it really shines through that the staff at Boopas does not sacrifice their customer service and great attitudes just because they are having a rough morning. This is why waiting a little longer than normal was no big deal and why I will continue supporting Boopas every...

This is not Boopa's. The new owner needs to change the name. This isn't the legacy of Holly and Lisa.

I worked here for four years, many years ago. Holly instilled in us that customers come first and we make a quality product. Now? Customer service is awful. It's like they don't want to be there serving customers. I was trained to immediately greet people as they walked in the door. This no longer happens. I was trained to be fast and efficient. That is definitely out the window. I used to be in and out with no problem. Now it takes about 20 minutes, if not longer.

I don't know if they've changed the recipe or if they're leaving the dough in the walk-in refrigerator for too many days, but the bagels do not taste the same. Also, why are there donuts and a lot of other pastries? I've also worked at a donut shop. Bagels and donuts are way different. You can't make a quality product of both at the same time.

The last time I went in and asked for a certain cream cheese I was told, "We don't have that flavor today." What? today? This is a bagel shop. You should have all the flavors on all the days.

I've talked to customers who were daily regulars, and they've stopped going because this business has gone downhill. The owner took a well-established business and ran it into the ground. I'm not sure how they still haven the doors open at this point.

On my final visit I left without anything. I promptly got in my car and cried. May sound dramatic, but I spent 30-40 hours a week there for 4 years. It's like returning back to your childhood home and to discover a new family living there and that they've completely...

It's honestly sad the quality and the service that has changed with the new ownership. I am from New York and looked forward to having their bagel sandwich on the weekends.

Now, they're calling customers as "the guy with the cowboy hat", "the couple", that person right there" and its almost insulting. Your customers should mean the world to you. They're what makes your business successful or not. They don't even take tickets to ensure name and correct order is made, hence not using anyone's name.

When we were waiting for our sandwiches to be made because they ran out of cooked eggs on a Sunday, the skinny lady behind the counter burped out loud and didn't even care or say excuse me. They all work around not caring it seems like and couldn't really care if you were there. The owners wife has the same attitude. Just walks around doing her thing, versus making her customers feel welcome and happy to see them.

It's sad to see all of these reviews how the quality has changed. As a business owner, I see an opportunity to open a bagel shop and provide the amazing quality and service I do with my other businesses and blow this one out of the water. This business has to remember they're not the only ones that can run a bagel place and people of 20 years coming to this place can and will stop.

UPDATE:

We revisited here and they completely changed their service and the way of doing things. The quality of taste was much better as well. We definitely...
