DO NOT go to this restaurant!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I went there in April 2018 for his birthday. I ordered Lamb Korma and my husband had Chicken Tikka. My Korma was fantastic but his Tikka was tough, very dry and burnt. We decided to give them another try for my birthday in September. We ordered; plain Naan, Lamb Korma, Butter Chicken, Goat Curry and a Tandoori Grill platter (it was an hour drive to the place and we wanted enough for two dinners). The Naan was soft and fluffy the first time we had it and the second time it was overcooked and dry. The Korma didn't taste like it did the first time I had it, the butter chicken was okay but not much flavor. When I placed the order (to go) I told them to make sure not too overcook the Tandoori mixed grill but they still did. When we got home and opened the Tandoori grill it was burnt again and it had something in it that looked like a black terd, I kid you not. We didn't eat it. The goat curry was not good at all, very little flavor. But it did have some hidden surprises...bones, fat and gristle. In the first bite I bit down on a bone and actually broke a tooth. In the second bite I found 2 more bones, and the meat was mainly chunks of fat and gristle. I throw it away. The bones were very sharp too. I hate to think of a child getting this dish. The next day I called and spoke with the owner and he said "every body knows that goat curry has bones in it". I said that 'I' didn't know it had bones in it, and that it doesn't say so on the menu on their web site (which is where I ordered it from). I asked him to refund the price of the dish and he would not and just kept telling me that it always has bones in it. I will NEVER go to this place again and I suggest you don't either. I lived in England for 6 years where there's an Indian restaurant on every corner. I think I have eaten in about 30 different ones and I can safely say that on a scale of 1-10...
Read moreWent there for dinner. The restaurant location is a bit difficult to find as it is hidden behind other establishments..so following gps directions can be confusing. The restaurant setting itself is above average for an Indian restaurant, perfect for a dinner out where you can wear fairly causual clothes. Service is friendly and the owner is the chef. As far as the food I would say in most cases it is significantly better than most Indian restaurants but you also have to pay significantly more per dish..about 10 to 13 dollars per dish. For appetizers I tried chicken 65 which is above average but I still think zyka has a better taste. For the main meal the naan was excellent (soft and fluffy). The butter chicken was rich and perfectly spicy with good pieces of meat (most importantly did not taste like shaan masala). The matter paneer was also a good choice with great tasting paneer. The Malai kofta was bellow average (curry was good but the kofta was a bit hard). The curries come with rice. I thought the chicken byriani was above average with a good spice blend (again did not use shaan like a lot of places) but it was way too expensive and I would not recommend it based on the fact that you can find better biryani for a lot cheaper price. The onion kulcha was excellent and I highly recommend it. Desert menu was a bit small, we tried the gulab jamun which frankly was below average.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant. I would suggest going here for a sit down meal rater than quick take out. Go with the curries and forgo the biryani. The price of this restaurant is a 4 to 5 dollars more per dish than your average Indian restaurant. Have not tried...
Read moreWe love Indian food. Unfortunately we have been unable to find any half way decent Indian in the Fort Worth area and this place was par for the course. We chose to give Indian kitchen a shot because it's got quite a few good reviews. I don't know others experience with Indian food but this stuff is mediocre at best.
Our papadum came to us cold straight from the fridge. The mint and tamarind chutneys were as thin as water and had about as much flavor. We ordered two naan, one garlic and one peshwari. The garlic naan was passable albeit very strong raw garlic flavor. The peshwari naan was not passable. If you're familiar with peshwari you know it should have raisins and nuts. This particular naan had cinnamon sugar and no nuts or raisins. Whaaaat? My wife's paneer korma was decent. Not great but not the worst we've ever had. I ordered lamb vindaloo. I was really torn because the lamb was, oddly enough, some of the most tender and tasty I have had in a long time. It was not gamey at all with succulent little pieces of fat still attached. But the gravy... It sucked. Vindaloo should have a definite tang or pucker to it as it is supposed to be made with vinegar. You should also be able to taste an explosion of flavor in your mouth. This tasted like chili powder paste. I like hot and it was hot but that's all it was. No flavor what so ever.
Needless to say we will not...
