A co-worker of my mother-in-laws recommended this place, so we decided to try it out...twice.
Pros- • Very generous portions of the food. • Very very very casual atmosphere. • Great guacamole...It’s not Mi Dia from Scratch (Grapevine, TX) table-side guacamole (literally the best table-side guacamole around), but for guacamole that is pre-made everyday, it’s great! • Fajita Mexicana was very flavorful.
Cons- • Their salsa is some of worst salsa I have ever had...and we have eaten here twice in the last two weeks to be sure it wasn’t an off-batch. It tastes like they started with a decent batch, and then over diluted it with cans of puréed tomatoes...it tastes like you opened a can of plain tomato sauce and added a tablespoon of salsa. To gauge my taste buds, some of the best salsa is found at Pappasito's Cantina, On the Boarder, Glorias, Mia’s...And I could go on and on. It’s just about everywhere else are varying degrees of very good salsa, but this one is so watered down and diluted it just taste terrible! • The chips should be thicker. They’re very paperthin chips. Now this works well with the watered down salsa, but with their delicious guacamole, your chips are always breaking off in that. • Beef Molcajetes Especial $22 - this is supposed to be a fajita platter that has beef fajitas (or Chicken) shrimp, and quail. The beef fajitas were tasty; however, the shrimp wasn’t grilled at all. It’s as if they boil the shrimp in their bland salsa...just a waste. The quail was good, not great, but good. • The Menudo is ok...nothing to write home about. Consistently best Menudo I found anywhere around the DFW area is Marquez Bakery and Tortilla Factory (five minutes from AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas). • Mojoto $10 - DON’T do it. It wasn’t good...And I find myself asking how do you mess up a Mojito? I’ve had Mojito‘s from dozens of Mexican restaurants in the DFW area, and much like the salsa, it was the worst I’ve had.
In closing, I really wanted to like this place, but I can’t find myself spending the time and money for generous portions of mediocre food... Unless you were going there only for beef fajitas...
Read moreI would highly recommend this place.
I walked to this location while my car was being worked on at Discount Tire (one of the workers recommended this place to be).
Bottom line - all the food tastes fresh, (ESPECIALLY THE GUACAMOLE - BEST I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE). I would highly reconvene this location to anyone I have ever met.
Food - phenomenal flavor and great taste. I got the combo lunch fajitas and I made it stretch because it tasted so good. Honestly, one of the best things that got my attention while eating here at the chips and salsa. The salsa is SO GOOOODDDD, I asked to take some home to go! It is life changing and has a good spice and flavor. Not your average chips and salsa. The fajitas just tastes so fresh and tender with the corn tortillas.
Price - the prices were absolutely amazing. Well priced and the quality of their food surpasses their pricing. That's dangerous to say, but these people are giving their customer the experience that is worth the value you pay, and then some.
Environment - is a small business but it doesn't feel cramped. Go and check it out for yourself and you'll understand. Even though this is my first time there, I will say I think they probably stay busy.
Bottom line (again) - honestly and sincerely, go eat here for yourself! I think it will be worth your time...
