I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Buffalo Bros, and I must say, it was nothing short of a disaster. The food was so terrible that I wouldn't hesitate to compare it to hospital food. No, but seriously, go to JPS and order something from their cafeteria, you’ll see no difference.
I ordered a chicken Parmesan sandwich, which the menu stated comes with marinara. What they failed to mention is that they would be rationing the marinara sauce like there’s a shortage. When I asked for extra marinara to put a reasonable amount on my sandwich, they had the audacity to charge me an extra dollar for something that should have been included in the first place.
I thought there was absolutely no possible way to mess up French fries, but Buffalo Bros managed to prove me wrong. The fries were bland, ketchup couldn’t even save them. Here’s a helpful tip: don’t be afraid to add some seasoning to your fries for customer satisfaction. But seriously, at least salt would suffice.
The pizza was another disappointment, reminiscent of the budget-constrained days of elementary school. It was so terrible that it brought back memories of cafeteria food at its worst. If I wasn’t as hungry as I was, that would’ve gone untouched like the rest of the food.
The only redeemable part of my meal was the sampler (nothing to call home about but edible compared to the rest), the beer and soft drinks, as they come from a keg and a machine, so there's little room for error. However, I watched another bartender pour a beer that was 80% foam and 20% beer. I send my condolences to the customer who received that sorry excuse for a glass.
Throughout this entire experience, our server failed to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything. After sitting for about ten minutes with full plates of food, I finally asked for the check and to-go boxes. This isn't the norm, as servers usually tend to read the room and have these items prepared. My mistake for assuming they had restaurant experience and exceptional customer service skills. But after about 15 minutes I had to go find someone and ask for the check because our server didn’t bother coming back as she was too engulfed in conversation with another patron.
If you’re looking for a quick meal with decent food, this is not the place. I understand that sports bars aren’t known for having the best food, as I’ve had my fare share of bar food, but Buffalo Bros has plummeted past the bare minimum into the pits of hell for both food and service. Perhaps if I came completely inebriated (I’m assuming this is how the regulars can bare eating here) I just might find it decent.
This is the first and only restaurant that has genuinely pissed me off with how terrible it was. Normally, I’m extremely understanding, patient, and lenient, but Buffalo Bros was just that bad. Unfortunately due to spending 65$ on this food, food that belongs in Hell’s Kitchen, I had to take it home and will attempt to make it somewhat manageable. Save yourself the trouble and...
Read moreThis was the second time we ate here. My wife and I are from Buffalo, and I was un the Pizza, wings, and restaurant Business for 25 years, so what I'm about to say comes with knowledge. I'll cover the food we had first. The 18" Pizza was excellent. Whole milk mozzarella, which is the best for pizza was used. High in butter fat really brings out the flavors. The toppings were very good, and the sauce was excellent. Made me feel like I was back in Buffalo. Next, the wings. Ordered them with Hot Buffalo sauce. The wings were good size. For those interested, there are three sizes of wings, s, m, and L. I'd say these were medium. The wings were good. I prefer mine crispier, so the next time I'll ask them to cook the wings about 3 minutes longer. The sauce wasn't quite like Buffalo's sauce, but it was good. The Roast Beef on Kimilweck roll was flavorful, and the beef was abundant, but needed to be dipped in Aux Jous, or gravy before piling it on the roll. The horseradish was excellent. We also had the sampler platter which is a good starter. Now, for this trip, their prices are about 25% higher than I think they should be. Next, on our next trip, we had the Fish Fry, which is only served in Friday's. It comes with approximately, an 8 ounce piece of Haddock, which I think is the best, most flavorful, white fish you can eat, if it's cooked properly. Theirs was perfect. Meaty, flavorful, and moist. It comes with a good portion of French fries, and Cole slaw, with too many carrots, and not enough green and red cabbage. The flavor was good, but adding celery seed, and a but more black pepper would improve it. In Buffalo, when you order a Fish Fry, and trust me, I've eaten plenty, and prepared many when in the business, comes with an 8-10 ounce portion of Haddock, French fries, fresh made Cole slaw, macaroni salad, potato salad, and a slice of rye bread with butter pat's, along with tartar sauce, and lemon slice. Buffalo Brothers price is $12.00. That's about $3 to $4 more than you pay for a Fish Fry un Buffalo, and you get more un Buffalo. Now, I want to point out, as I was informed, this is Fort Worth, not Buffalo.
Service...The first time we were there, the assistant Mgr waited in US and made us feel right at home, even took time to explain about Buffalo Brothers, and their menu. Excellent. The last time, the waiter was not Interested in any conversation, nor our opinions. It was about 2:30 pm, and not busy, so, I'd say, he missed an opportunity to build the business. The best service staff will suggestive sell additional menu items. The higher the ticket, the bigger the tip. Unless, they are rude and blow the tip part. This guy came close. No suggestion selling, and all he wanted to do was get the order and move on. We will go back, but only in Monday's, half price pizza, Wednesday, 10 wings for $5.00, and Friday's for the fish fry, even though I miss the one from Buffalo, the...
Read moreFinally had the chance to visit on a 1/2 price pizza Monday. The 13" small supreme and steak & cheese pizza were delicious! The bison cheeseburger meal that comes with a pickle and fries is overpriced. The fries were decent. The bison burger isn’t worth ordering in my opinion. Maybe their regular burger is better. I would stick with the pizza and order a burger from Dutch’s. This establishment can be loud when packed with people.
The restaurant is clean and has an amazing staff. This was my first visit to both buffalo bro's locations. My encounter with the staff was great. I told the staff member I called in an order, but she couldn’t locate it. I showed her the number I called, and she informed me it was at the sundance square location. I thought, “You gotta be kidding me.”
After reviewing each location's online menu, I noticed TCU's smallest size pizza starts at 13.” Due to me looking at the TCU menu I ordered the 13” small meat lovers for $24.99. I noticed sundance square offers 3 different pizza sizes, unlike TCU. If I knew the sundance square location I accidentally called had a $16.99 personal 10” pizza on the menu I would’ve selected it.
I highly recommend ordering from their daily special menu. The pizza I ordered is 1/2 the price on Monday. The Monday price is what the pizza is worth.
Note: It isn’t easy to find parking at both locations and they are super packed. I'm not sure how packed they are during the week, but I would avoid dining in on the weekend unless you get there right when the doors open. Once I arrived at the sundance square location I looked over my pizza, ordered some drinks at the bar, and took advantage of the Sunday $5 house bloody mary. I asked for a chair to put at the bar and squeezed in.
Because it is a sports bar it's loud and hard to find a seat because of the number of customers at both locations. This mix-up took place between 11:30 am-12:30 pm on Sunday. Once I order a burger and wings from this location, I will update the review to 5 stars or less. The 4 stars are because they don’t offer the 10” personal pizza on their menu. Hopefully, they will allow you to order...
