So I’ve been going to chicken express for a long time. The one I frequent is in Weatherford and they are always kind and polite. The one here off of basswood. Ok where do I start. The ole lady and I walk in, go to order and the girl up front does not have any emotions whatsoever. It was like talking to a robot. Then as we order she didn’t ring it up right not once, not twice. 4 times they rung it up wrong. I’m a super patient person. I let it pass with a smile. We finally get our food ordered and sit down. Food comes out. I ordered a #2 with fried pickles and corn nuggets, large sweet tea and red serendipity. She ordered a 4 piece meal with okra and corn nuggets. Food comes out. Boom list # 2. All our chicken was pink. Not meh kinda sorta. I mean this junk was as pink as the day is long. I didn’t notice mine right off the bat due to the first one being old and tougher than leather. I took my girls back up and again with a smile asked to receive new ones. Now mind you I had only done this once before in my life. She smiled took it and alerted the fry cook to check the temps on his fryer. Ok cool. I sit down. Go to eat the fried pickles. Boom. This stuff was dryer than a camels ass. My girl took it and got new ones. I went to get the serendipity. There was none. Ok I’ll live. Go to eat my spicy yummy chicken strips. Nope. These were even more pink that the previous ones. I’m talking as pink as an uncooked salmon fillet. By this time I’m hangry and getting irritated. I walked up front and kindly told the robot woman of the issue. She stared at me like I had an arm coming out of my ass. The guy in the back must’ve thought I was some kind on evil spirit because he looked at me like he wanted to exorcise the demons out of me. So I got irritated and told them they should check all the tenders they have made up because they are going to get someone sick sending that stuff out. I sit down. She offers me some of her chicken strip they brought out to her. Boom opens one up. STILL PINK....
Read moreWhile waiting at the drive thru, my daughter had to use the ladies room. She got out of the car and entered the building, going through the kitchen by mistake because that is where one of the front doors lead., The males , all 6, laughed at her after she walked past them and made lewd comments. One of them asked "where did she come from" and another one started walking toward the lobby area with the other 5 following to see what was going on. I got out of my car, but they all started walking back to the kitchen. I pulled around and my daughter was in tears. All of those boys had made lewd comments, laughed, and the douchebag with the boy bun on top of his head yelled through the door and told her she had to leave. When I walked in and asked to speak to the manager, doucheboy said he was the manager and there was no one else I could talk to. When I told him my daughters complained of the harassment, verbatim he started out with "Well first of all she entered MY work area". And I didnt let him get much more out. I started with "If you lock the mf'r that wouldn't happen" along with other colorful terms"to describe males who berate females". If you are the owner and you give a damn about your reputation and that of your business, please give me a number to lodge...
Read moreThe location at Basswood Blvd near I-35W is my new favorite Chicken Express. I wish they had the Monday specials though. The food is great and they are open late until 10pm. The dining room is closed, but the drive-thru is open and usually quick. Although their menu is extensive, I only get the Combo #1 with 4 tenders, cream gravy, fries, a roll and a drink. They have regular and spicy tenders. I love the sweet tea.
This location doesn't have the specials that some other locations have, but their service is much better and the food is a lot better so I still prefer this location. The employees are more professional and they don't mess up my orders so I can live without the specials.
The separate location on North Beach Street was my favorite, but they run out of food and won't make more, mess up my orders and randomly close up to an hour early. The last time I was there they closed early after the car ahead of me ordered and never answered through the speaker. An employee leaving walking to his car said they were closed. They don't seem to be a business that wants to make money or cares about their job. It used to be a really nice place, but now I'd rather drive to the...
