I wanted to try something new, and I saw that this restaurant had gotten a lot of publicity in the papers. It has robots that deliver food to you, (sometimes, but still cool,) it's an all you can eat buffet that's a little steep but worth most of the quality, and most of all, the selection of food does not disappoint with how diverse it is! Trust me when I say that you'll be tasting this one the day of and the day after. It's just that good... But that's not to say, however, that it is without fault.
If you're a first-time visitor, the staff are so incredibly friendly and provide you with a basic run down of how things go. The summary is that it's all you can eat, if that's what you're looking for: it's recommended that way. Only downside is that what you order, you better eat! Any plate you have leftover? It's going to be five bucks on top of the already high price for admission. (We're talking 30 dollars here. By the way, if you don't order water, you have to pay separately for any kind of drink. That's a little much, don't you think?) But don't let that dissuade you. The food here is absolutely DIVINE! I mainly speak for the fried rice, as that's my go to for any Asian Cuisine, and serves as a good baseline for me with how the rest of the food is going to be. It's got flavor, doesn't overload in any aspect with seasonings or rice... It's the perfect balance. Those appetizers like the Takoyaki and the Calamari were excellent as well. The portion sizes, too, are pretty small, but it's all you can get! Now what I will warn you of is the sushi, sashimi, and any other raw fish. It's not meant for everybody, that much you should know. Some of it tasted a little bunny, and I'd be especially cautious of ordering too much, unless you want it coming back out the way it came back in. It's not pretty to talk about but I unfortunately had too much on my plate and ended up finding this out the hard way. So please be wary of that! It could be the kitchen, but it could also be you, too. For me, I think it was a bit of both.
Yet while the aftermath was a little hectic, I would definitely recommend this place if you knew you'd enjoy an array of sushi, sashimi, ramen, maybe some marble soda, and especially fried rice. I only recommend, however, the side of the buffet as opposed to eating out. That much is too pricey! But word of advice, too: if you're getting full and thinking about getting another plate to finish up the night, just get the dessert and just call it there. Bonus points if you know how to...
Read moreSadly, I need to retract my previous outstanding reviews. My daughter and I went again for dinner this evening and it started out good. We both received our drinks and appetizers and Ramen.
My daughter ordered a handroll and a couple of sushi pieces and I ordered sashimi. My daughter's pieces came out, however no sashimi. We were enjoying conversation and decided to give the staff a little extra time.
When I inquired about the sashimi, the server told me the order didn't come through so she reordered and my daughter placed another order.
Again, her pieces came out and no sashimi to be found and the server would order again. I was now hungry, and when I asked again, I asked for a manager because now this becoming a problem.
The server said that it wasn't her problem so I responded with I didn't think it was fair to charge me for AYCE when nothing I ordered after an appetizer had been brought out.
A manager came out and said there was a problem with their ticketing system and they had new staff in the back. One flaw in this explanation is that only our orders seemed to have a problem.
After some back and forth, the manager said that she would only charge for one person. I agreed as it was only fair since my daughter did receive most of her orders. Here's the kicker. I was still pretty hungry so I took a bite from my daughter's plate. The same manager wasted no time in questioning me and telling me that it was against policy to share food.
At this point I became very frustrated and responded with, "I've been here several times with great experiences and because you don't have your act together, I'm the one being harassed."
I asked for the check so that I can leave and find dinner elsewhere.
I will leave my original review and pictures appended, however, I am extremely frustrated, disappointed, and have never experienced such poor treatment with the worst customer service ever!
They certainly haven't given me a reason to return.
Stopped in for AYCE Sushi lunch with my daughter this week. Our server was friendly and outgoing and checked on us often. The decor is modern and they have a good variety of music playing in the background.
The nigiri was fresh and the rolls and ramen were flavorful.
The only downside is that all of the sashimi appetizers and dishes were for dinner only, but we will...
Read moreWe came here for lunch and just wanted a nice sit-down lunch within the hour to get back to work on time (no time for all-you-can-eat). I just ordered a teriyaki bento and my 5yo wanted soup. Well.....the soup is only on the all-you-can-eat menu now and apparently that was a problem because my wife and I are not doing all-you-can-eat. They decided we need to move over to the other side where the sushi train is so we can order what we want. So over we moved, and then had to order on our own with the computer. After we were done eating and submitted the payment call on the computer, the waitress ignored us for quite a long time, even going through some long birthday dance with another table all the while walking right passed us several times. Usually I don't mind at dinner time, but lunch time people have tighter time constraints. We paid in cash, and she didn't bother bringing the ~75cents change back to give us an option for tip, so the 75 cents became the tip.
The food: -It's been a while since I have ordered this, but the bento can no longer be considered a bento. They put the salad in a main dish spot, the teriyaki chicken is a small amount of chicken mixed in with a bunch of vegetables (more like a Chinese stir fry), the california rolls and pickles have been removed, cheap fried pot-sticker. It's effectively a more expensive hibachi bowl spread out on a bento box. -I already know not to order the ramen because they put chashu that has the wrong flavor in it and it ruins the ramen flavor. -other things are fine, like the sushi and karage appetizer.
Overall, this place has become mediocre and we tolerate it mostly because the kids love the revolving sushi and train at dinner time. While the revolving sushi is the best part and there are some tasty ones, it does not have enough variety, with most being variations of the same thing (california roll with panko on top, california roll with spicy mayo on top, etc). With a new Kura opening in Euless, I think it's time to drive just a little farther from home looking for good sushi.
I hope they improve but it appears they are cutting too many noticeable corners on their food. The all-you-can-eat ruins the dine-in side with the fact they actually moved normal things over to it and expect you to pay $20 for lunch within your hour or so...
