The place is pretty and the food is great — however, the attitudes of every employee we came across today are not.
When we came into the restaurant, we weren’t greeted by any of the employees at the front, although we were the only customers in line at the time. We started to look at the menu options, and had a few questions but figured them out on our own, without any employees offering to help.
Soon after, an older couple than us walked in and they were warmly greeted by the staff, and a staff member even walked up to them to ask if they had visited the store before and if they had any questions — a total 180 from the service we received.
As we ordered, I asked the the cashier if she liked a dish, and she proceeded to look bothered and just nodded yes with no further details. Also, as we ate our food, an employee asked if we were done with our meal as we were visibly still eating. They lingered for a bit to ask again and took one of our plates in an awkward fashion. It gave the impression they are trying, but the service felt clunky and forced at best.
I’m unsure why the employees acted this way towards us; maybe we’re not their target audience as younger customers, and the employees don’t think it’s worth giving us good service. Or perhaps the employees are new to the service industry and haven’t gotten the hang of it, yet.
Nonetheless, we enjoyed the food and would like to return, but hope management takes time to train their employees on hospitality and good service, especially as people are coming in for the first time. Creating a strong first impression is a great way to make lifelong customers and increase their lifetime value. Really hoping things...
Read moreFirst timer, so I’m only giving 4 stars until I get acclimated with this place + how expensive it is. I got the green curry tofu, chia seed pudding & cool down drink. Everything tasted amazing! It was $36 omg!!!! Granted, I did get some extra things like sauce, granola & quinoa because I didn’t know how generous they’d be with the portions but sheesh. The price was worth it though & to help my pockets, I ate until my body said it was full which is leaving me with leftovers for lunch tomorrow! The bowl was soooo flavorful, I was anticipating it to be not so tasty but I was definitely proven wrong! I love how everything from the food to the drinks are all prepped in front of you with fresh & healthy ingredients! I’m on a diet right now to lose a few pounds, so this may be my go-to place for when I don’t feel like meal prepping. At least now I know how to get a couple of meals out of one :) Compared to the cost of groceries right now, this place is decent. The staff was kind & helpful as it was my first time. The atmosphere was also relaxing, bright & airy. I enjoyed this visit and look forward...
Read moreSaw a trendy video on Facebook about the Chop Shop! The guy was trading Cava bags for Chop Shop bags. I decided to try it today. In my opinion, Chop Shop does not compete or compare with Cava. I tried it for the first time today.
Service/Atmosphere: The cashier was very welcoming. I explained that this was our first time visiting so she was patient. She even let us try the strawberry ginger lemonade which was phenomenal! There were only 2 other people dining in. It did take longer than expected to receive our order. It was about 10-15 minutes.
Cost: My daughter and I both had the chop Rita bowls, two drinks and their version of chips. Not pita bread but tortillas. Not a fan of those. The bill was $43+.
Food quality: They only have one type of hummus. Cava has more options. The jasmine rice didn’t have flavor. The majority of the bowl was rice and beans. It was about 4oz of chicken. One thing I appreciate about Cava is that you can physically see the preparation of your food.
Overall I would definitely choose Cava as far as the bowls. The drinks looked...
