I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience at your establishment, which was extremely frustrating for both myself and my family. As frequent patrons of Pappadeaux, we have always enjoyed the service and quality of food, but this visit was by far the worst experience we've encountered.
We have spent a significant amount of money at your restaurant and, as such, expect exceptional service. I made a reservation through Google and received a message directing me to check in upon arrival. Following the instructions, I entered the restaurant to check in and was greeted by the host. When I provided my name, she informed me that there were two reservations ahead of us. I asked how long the wait would be, and her response was snarky: “90 minutes, like it said online.” I explained that I didn’t see the wait time when I made the reservation and was simply asking for clarification.
After this exchange, we waited outside for an hour and 26 minutes, only to receive a message stating, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we cannot add you to the waitlist at this time.” Confused, I called the restaurant and was told that we had been removed from the list, but if we came inside, they would seat us within 10 minutes. Upon entering, I found out that our check-in had not been processed properly, despite the fact that I had checked in nearly an hour and a half earlier.
The situation escalated when, as we were going to the waiting room, the host who had initially interacted with us made a comment, which was overheard by another host. The second host said, “She wasn’t rude, but had she checked in then…” This remark was uncalled for and left me feeling disrespected, especially considering that the initial host had been aware of my check-in and should have been more professional.
My mother eventually spoke with the manager, who acknowledged the miscommunication and assured us that this situation should not have occurred, especially given our history as frequent customers. The manager graciously comped us two free appetizers, and I appreciate his effort to de-escalate the situation. However, I believe that additional training is needed for the hosts, as they are the first point of contact for customers and should always provide a positive and welcoming experience. It is also essential that staff refrain from making inappropriate comments when customers are within earshot.
On a positive note, I would like to commend Melanie, our waitress, for her excellent service. She was patient, attentive, and made the remainder of our dining experience enjoyable.
I hope you take this feedback seriously, as we value Pappadeaux and would like to continue being loyal customers. Thank you for your time...
Read moreWent Sunday for Father’s Day. My husband’s favorite. We made reservations for 4:45. We got there, checked in. We were told “go sit in that room and we will CALL you when your table is ready.” We sat for a few minutes and I thought I heard our name. Went and asked they said “no we didn’t call you.” We sat for about 15 more minutes. In that time frame the hostess walked back and retrieved at least 2 parties to be seated. We were still sitting (unnoticed) by any employee or manager. Finally, my husband goes and asks and the hostess says “we sent you a text message.” Well, I didn’t get the text! So we were added back to the seating rotation and they came back and got us. As I walked by the hostess stand, I confronted the girl checking people in, in front of a short, dark haired manager. The manager never said a word. She just stood there and laughed. I asked to speak to the GM and it was at least 10 minutes before someone can out that looked like he was the kitchen manager. He apologized, said that shouldn’t have happened because that’s not how they are trained. He later sent another manager (in training possibly?) to tell us they would pay for our appetizer. Great. But we don’t expect free stuff, we expect the service that we have always come here for, we could have gone somewhere closer to home.
The food! Presentation was awful! Didn’t get everything upon delivery of meal. My daughter’s steak was not delivered with the meal, we had to ask for it. They only brought her side of baked potato. My husband asked for extra sauce with his pasta dish which he didn’t get and was lied to about there being extra on it already. Then our actual waiter noticed that there wasn’t an extra sauce on the table closer to us finishing our food and went and got it for him.
This was the absolute worst experience we have ever had at this restaurant. My husband has been eating at Pappadeaux for over 30 years and he swears he won’t go back because it has become e just like every other restaurant that doesn’t care about what...
Read morePappadeaux's - Where Birthday Dreams (and Shrimp) Come True! I just celebrated my birthday at Pappadeaux's, and honestly, I could not have chosen a better place unless Beyoncé herself invited me over for gumbo--and even then, I would hesitate. When I walked in, I knew I was in for something special. Alice, the hostess, welcomed us like family members returning from a long journey. She was nice and caring and made my friends and family feel welcome and comfortable, which established the tone for a special evening. I want to share about the food. Wow, the food was amazing! Each bite was a wonderful celebration of taste. It is evident that the kitchen believes butter and love are synonymous, and I wholeheartedly agree. Our waiter--I cannot remember his name, but he was a Latino superstar--deserves a standing ovation and possibly his own Food Network show. Friendly, funny, and attentive without being overbearing, he managed the delicate balance of treating us like royalty while keeping the vibe relaxed. The man is a hospitality ninja. Manager Nick also made his way over, and I appreciated the personal touch. He runs a tight, well-seasoned ship. You can tell the staff enjoys working here, which speaks volumes about leadership. The ambiance? Lively without being loud, upscale without the attitude. The lighting was just dim enough to be flattering (even in iPhone photos), and the decor walks the line between Southern charm and elegant bistro. And can we take a moment for the drinks? These are not your watered-down "sip it and weep" cocktails. No sir. These are grown-up drinks--boozy, balanced, and beautiful. Whoever is behind the bar is doing the Lord's work. If you are looking for a place to celebrate something special--or you want to treat any day like Mardi Gras--Pappadeaux's is it. Delicious food, a team that treats you like gold, and an atmosphere that makes every meal feel like a mini-vacation. I left full and happy and am already planning my next visit. I give it a 10/10 because I would get...
