I planned a mixer here and talked to two managers 4 weeks before my mixer and asked if it would be ok to have 45-60 people there. They seemed happy to have us. I contacted them days before to let them know that I had 57 people that said they were coming and over 50 that said maybe. Come to the day and time of the event, no manager on site and no one knows about our mixer. I discussed with Adam and Texas (the two managers) that I wanted to have the garage doors in the bar open and have it inside/outside and they said fine. I get there and the tables are filthy where I mentioned us being and I asked for a towel to clean it because there did not seem to be much staff working and it was embarrassing that I already had about 15 people there and only one bartender on site. He was very overwhelmed and also had no idea that we were coming. You would think a manager would give a heads up but they must not be experienced. One bartender for the entire restaurant plus my 60 people. Weeks later, I tried to go tonight and once again, the bar was completely covered in piles of dirty dishes and only one bartender. We sat there for almost ten minutes with filthy dishes and counters in front of us so we then went to a table. Texas came over and basically fought with me about me having my mixer there. He said I was only supposed to have 20 people and that I told him that number but that was never ever my number and never has been for any of my two mixers a month that I plan. He told me that I was wrong and basically a liar. Said it was never supposed to be inside and outside. I had spoken on the phone about it but have text messages to and from adam to prove the conversations. Texas continued to tell me that I was not right and argued so my table of three got up and left. We were very uncomfortable. I do not want to give my business to anyone that is ungrateful and rude to me. Every place that I bring my mixers to is always grateful and thankful and very appreciative. Never ever had someone act this way when we are bringing in thousands of dollars...
Read moreWalk in 8pm....ask hostess if still open....yes, suggests bar since I'm alone. Bartender approaches after 1- 2 mins asked what would I have and I said a cola whichever they have. She went back t other side of the bar, did a few glasses in the washer, went out to the bar tables, made a round picking up checks and collected a few bar glasses and I'm just watching her. The hostess was watching her too so after a few minutes the hostess made my drink and brought it to me. Positive moment of the night. I have no menu but I wait and s ee if the bartender offers me one. She does not so I holler to her could I get a menu. She brings me one lays it down and walks away. I ask her if eating at the bar is ok and she looks back over her shoulder and says of course. After deciding what I want very quickly because I have been eating Blue Goose on lower Greenville for 35 years, I sat the menu down. She is over by the register sorting tickets and talking to the hostess and another server. 3-4 mins go buy and the hostess looks over at me..I look back waiting. The bartender sees the hostess eyeing me looks back and asks if I'm ready to order. She comes over, takes my order and is gone. Food comes, I have no napkin or silverware, which I told the server but I guess he didn't hear me. He left, I thought to get utensils. When he did not come back I yelled at the bartender, gabbing at the register, Could I please get something to eat my food with? I was neither nice or quiet at this point. When she brought utensils I just blurted out to het, you are the worst...the absolute worst. She backed away, back to the register and made a couple of comments like she was surprised and wondered what was wrong with me. The food was good but I ate quickly, got and paid the check , left no tip and wrote notes on my receipt which I'm sure was misplaced and not turned in and left. Your store...
Read moreHad the shrimp cocktail, fried fish taco appetizer, lunch fajitas, lime rice, and charro beans. They bring you chips n salsa when you sit down and they have xerox paper menus. Also had house margarita and jalapeño margarita. I really liked the charro beans. Shrimp cocktail was good Nothing was outstanding, except our waiter, Brennan, and manager, forgot her name. Lunch portions very good. The fish tacos were not good. In a tiny corn tortilla there were 3 tablespoons of diced Roma tomatoes. Great way to make sure both fish and tortilla were soggy af. Really bummed me out. Still in search of simple good fish tacos like you can find literally ANY WHERE in San Diego. I know I know I'm a long way from San Diego. The margaritas were boring and didn't pack much of a punch. That beef fajita meat was very good I'd skip the chicken. Ordered the side of poblano lime rice and was looking forward to it. Have tried the Box mixes from the grocery store and they are very good. There was no discernable lime nor poblano flavor in the rice. I am very picky and cook 4 pretty outstanding meals a week at home, so for the average person, I think Blue Goose is a good choice. The bar area has lots of TVs the interior is very pretty there's Nifty things to look at so the Aesthetics are good. Food tasted fresh it's just a lack of flavor like I could have tweet everything just a little and made it so much better. The jalapeno margarita? I would have macerated some of the jalapeno instead of just throwing chunks of Jalapeno in a regular Margarita which is what they did. The spice around ( only about 1/8th of the glass) was the highlight. A tweet here and there and it really would have been pretty good. But I think that's what you get from corporate/ franchised places. $60 for lunch (Mondays is hh...
