My family chose Pappasito’s Cantina after a wonderful Sunday church service. We were sat in the section with Tyler as our server. We were told by the hostess that we were seated with the best serve and to enjoy our meal. Reflecting back, I’m unsure if that was truth or sarcasm because we received the worst service. Our table was ignored and pawned off on other servers who were clearly disgruntled by being asked to support our table. Our glasses were dirty, and when we asked for clean ones, we were greeted with rolled eyes from Tyler. Our second set of glasses were dirty, as well. When we tried to wave down Tyler, he sped past our table. Eventually ,my dad had to walk it to the bar to get a clean water glass. When we mentioned this to a manager, RJ I believe, the manager shared the concern with Tyler. Tyler came to our table and began to “fuss” at us sharing that he was not ignoring our table, that there was a process to how serving goes. He then proceeded to go off on us as to reprimand us for asking for better service. Feeling uneasy about how our food would turn out and how our Sunday would go, we decided to leave.
We were the only black people in this section. This could or could not be the reason for poor service, rolling of eyes, dirty glasses, other cups left empty, being ignored even after new tables of families arrived, and eventually being alone to harshly by our server, Tyler; however it is a fact worth mentioning. We were a family of six.
I later spoke with Kayrah, another manager, who apologized profusely. She offered to mail me a gift card so they could “get it right next time”, however, I refused as I did not feel comfortable leaving my name, mailing address, and phone number. I shared that of Tyler was the “best server they had” accorded to the hostess, I don’t want to experience any other service from them. I also shared that Mr. Tyler needs further training.
As a 42 year resident of Fort Worth, I was simply embarrassed that this service from Pappasito’s occurred. Fort Worth is an amazing place, and Pappasito’s is a well known restaurant of the Pappas chain. This cannot happen again.
I can say with confidence that we will never go to this Pappasito’s location again. We ended up going down the street to Uncle Julio’s where we received amazing service from Joshua and...
Read moreSadly a work baby shower luncheon turned into an awkward luncheon. Our server was Federico S. and we were sat at table 20 by the hostess stand. Not sure why this location was chosen for a party of 7 but were use to being seated here as this seems to be where we are always seated. We frequently have work luncheons at this location and what happened today hasn’t happened before. We ordered. No issues. We received our food. My order was wrong, beans were not omitted, I chose to just eat as were didn’t have time to reorder - simple mistake. No biggie. My supervisor ordered sour cream. It was not delivered with her meal. She went to ask but was brushed off, server left. My co-worker asked for the boat that comes with the fajitas. It was next to her and she over looked it as she thought it was the person next to her’s item. The services said “it’s right there. Are you blind? You no listen.” Then he walked off. We all were flabbergasted and asked each other “did he just say that?” When lunch was eaten two ladies requested to go containers. The were provided but only boxes. We all were given our checked and paying. Cards and checks were mixed up when returned. Again no biggie. When cups/bowls were requested to use for that to go items only 2 were provided. A request for more was ignored and ignored again. I popped over to the hostess and request them. I’m assuring the manager brought them. He did inquire how lunch was and we said the food was good service not so much. Somehow during this time the checks re-appeared for some of us. I informed the server my was already paid. He said well the paper isn’t in there. It was and it was signed. I opened it and shows him. He said “oh I wanted to make sure it was correct and signed.” Uh it was. I told him again it was signed and that he had already ran my card and it was correct. He then accused me of calling him a liar. I had cash for a tip. I assume because he saw no tip he assumed it was not correct. Well the cash tip remained in my handbag. If it were not a work luncheon I would have asked for the manager. This made for a very skyward baby shower luncheon as the woman he was repeatedly rude to was the grandparent and mom-to-be was seated...
Read more3.5 stars! POSITIVES: great service, great atmosphere and vibe, food came out quickly, professional and friendly staff and cocktails were awesome.
NEGATIVES: food and beverages are exorbitantly overpriced. Whereas, you can get most of the same exact items that other fine quality restaurants at half the price. The refried beans were probably the worst I've ever eaten. They actually had some type of spice in them, which made them taste different than any other. How can you mess up refried beans at a Mexican restaurant. We're talking about Mexican food that is basically available at over 100 locations just in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We all know that it takes pennies on the dollar to make cocktails and this restaurant really is outrageous to charge $17.95 for a Margarita that you can purchase pretty much at any multitude of restaurants at half the price. The food was good but not great. It is more commercially prepared and plated beautifully. However, it does not have that authentic true Mexican flavor. We were a group of four. Two separate couples and our bills were approximately $150 each including the tip. I found this to be somewhat outrageous for a Mexican cantina. I can think of numerous places that I would spend that much for a great meal. However, I would have like to have a tablecloth and better table which was not crammed between two other large parties. I'm not saying that I would not return to this restaurant, I would just do things a little differently and I would definitely not order cocktails. I don't mind paying for anything that I wish to consume. However, when I feel that the menu pricing is exaggerated, it makes me feel ripped off. As a previous restaurant owner I know what it cost to make cocktails and food costs. While I expect every restaurant to make money of course. Overcharging your customers will likely cause them to not return or return as often. This review of course is only my opinion, after dining last evening with my spouse and another couple. All in all we had a good time and great conversations. But we were a little shocked when we received our bills. We paid our bills and tipped our waiter 20% and then...
