Stormie Mondays Cafe — Restaurant in Fort Worth

~ Hadn't been in about 2 years, cus of COVID.

Took a friend who had never been& he got the hamburger. I toools him he wouldn't be able eat it all, even though he's a Biiiig Guy.

He got about 1/2 through.....

See, I am LOUD& BOISTROUS white lady& I think of these folks like family.

Well, Stoney came outa tha kitchen& said that he recognized my voice& gave me a HUUUGE HUG.

My heart was& IS SOOOOO. DAMNED. FULL.

I love those folks. They are my HEART.

&Iiiiii will GLADLY DIE of a heart ATTACK eating their YUMMy, YUMMy food ')

LOOOOOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!!! Stoney, the owner, is an AHHHH- MAZING. (Had Iiiiiii SAID?? LoL *) His restaurant is VERY. CLEAN. They have hand sanitizer right there on the front counter.

ALWAYS clean bathrooms :)

Now the FOOD. OHHHHHH. MYYYYY. GOSH. BEST SOUL FOOD in Fort Worth& very POSSIBLE the STATE!!

The hamburgers (called 'Homemade's) are made while ya wait, as are most of the menu entrees. Everything is SOOOO. FRESH. Going to Stormie's is like visiting a favorite relatives house, cus they treatcha just like family.

HOMEMADE FOOD. GREAT SWEET TEA, LEMONAIDE& RED BUG JUICE. CLEAN. DELICIOUS, HOMEMADE FOOD.

HOMEMADE DESSERTS EVERY DAY

Banana Pudding, Peach Cobbler, Chocolate Cake, ect, ect, ect.....

I just love Stoney& the folks that work there. I shouldn't, cus I gained roughly 20 lbs in the 2 years that I lived in Poly eatin' there!!

I placed the order through door dash so naturally, with fees added to the cost of the actual order, it's a pretty high price for one person. With that being said, I place the order for two whole catfish and ended up with catfish fillets. I was pretty bummed out about it because you don't always get to order whole catfish but you're able to get fillets anywhere. Although the catfish was hot and had a good flavor, the sides which consisted of broccoli, cheese, casserole and macaroni and cheese, we're not good at all. I would definitely not recommend the sides to anyone. I'm not really sure what type of sauce is provided but it is extremely salty. Also something that I would not recommend after spending over $30 on this meal. I can definitely say it was a disappointment. I am very sad to have had this experience. However, as stated before, the fish has a good flavor and it was nice and hot. I would imagine that the whole catfish would reflect, but after spending the amount that I did and not receiving the proper order, I don't think I'm willing to take that...

Soul food at its finest! While in Fort Worth for my granddaughter’s basketball tournament and my son’s birthday weekend, I had the chance to catch up with a friend. She suggested we try Stormie Monday, and I’m so glad she did!

I ordered the 3 Chicken Wings .. yep I took a bite 🤷🏽‍♀️ with cabbage, sweet potatoes, and cornbread, and it was comfort food at its best. The wings were crispy and full of flavor, the cabbage was tender and well-seasoned, and the sweet potatoes had that perfect balance of sweetness and spice. The cornbread? Soft, warm, and just right.

Beyond the food, the staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was welcoming. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home.

If you’re ever in Fort Worth and craving some good, home-cooked soul food, Stormie Monday is a must-visit!
