My food frozen cold with hard frozen grease stuck to it. Could have gotten sick from poorly cooked food. If you visit this location, proceed with caution and make sure you check your meal in your car before pulling off. || October 31st at 9:30pm after leaving work I went through the drive-thru and ordered their popcorn shrimp and macaroni and cheese. I get to the window and (there were only two people working at the moment which I imagine may have been stressful) one of the workers pops her head out of the window asked me," Are you sure you want macaroni and cheese?" I could tell she was only halfway joking, sort of hinting that it'd take them a minute to get it ready. So I laughed with her and said I'd be willing to switch to fries. She mentioned they didn't have any fries ready either and it'd be easier to get the mac and cheese ready. I agreed and she eventually returned with my order. Something told me to pull over and check my order before leaving and I'm so glad I did. My popcorn shrimp was frozen cold, had hard frozen grease on it as if it had been in the refrigerator. I was stunned and honestly incredibly disappointed. I made sure to take pictures of the cold and hard popcorn shrimp and my receipt before going back around. I went back around through the drive-thru and asked if I could just have my money back and explained what was wrong.
She apologized saying "Oh! I must have given you the wrong ones..." What??? What does that even mean? I hate that it all happened this way because she seemed like a nice girl, but how do you give someone the wrong popcorn shrimp that's frozen cold with cold hard grease stuck to it? She offered me a lemon pie, but I kindly refused saying I just wanted my money back. Another worker came to the window to help her refund me the money. She also apologized and I just eventually left.
I still hadn't gotten my refund back! A week later I went back to see if the manager at this location knew what happened because I tried to contact the district manager who never returned my call/voicemail. The conversation was very civil, no one yelled or felt the need to raise their voice which was awesome. However, the manager seemed very nonchalant about it all, she cut me off when I told her about the refund and showed her my receipt. She told me that in order to get my money back I needed to double check with my bank and talk to corporate. Understandable and solid piece of advice, however when I showed her images of the food and when I tried to speak with her how her employees were doing when she wasn't there she dismissed it. She simply said "I'll find out who it was", but from her tone, facial expressions, and how dismissive she was I know she didn't mean it.
I called my bank and they fortunately were able to reverse the transaction and filed a complaint against this Popeye's location. I also called corporate who is fully aware of how poorly the situation was handled. The girl at the window handled everything better than the manager did. I don't want a free meal or anything and I honestly don't even think I'm owed anything. I just wanted the manager to be aware of the unacceptable and service her employees were cranking out. What if other customers get sick from eating poorly cooked food? I will NOT be returning to this Popeye's location ever again and will be telling my friends and family to...
Read moreI came in today after submitting an online order that was paid for and the manager was not knowledgeable on customer service at all. I had given her my order number and she acted like she didn’t know what was going on. I told her I paid ahead and I even seen my order number and name on their screen and I was asking for my drink while she figured out whatever it was that she needed to figure out And she said I need to see why this is not showing up on my end. I offered to show her my phone that showed what I ordered and showed my payment she than walked away for about 15 minutes and I kept asking other employees if I could speak with her. They all seemed afraid of her and finally she started to make my order without any explanation. I was upset at that point and when I asked for an extra sauce for me having to wait she told me I had to pay lol. At that point I was done with her and asked for corporates number and her name. She told me that the number is on the window and I could take a picture. I than asked her for her name and she was refusing to give it to me. Finally after me asking her forever she yelled ANGELICA lol I have never seen that happen before and while I was in the restaurant I called and made a complaint. She does not need to be a supervisor at all and if this store is not ready to handle mobile orders, they need to ask to be removed from...
Read moreAfter years of hearing about it, I wanted to try the famous Popeye's chicken sandwich. Stopped by with a son and got a spicy and a classic, one with fries and one with coleslaw.
Sons spicy was not as spicy as expected, but he said he enjoyed the flavor. Fries were a bit iffy for me and he was not really a fan either, but they were tasty enough to finish.
My classic had a bit too much breading for my preference, but still had a good flavor. One stand out winner, IMO was the coleslaw! Tasted like they made it a minute before they served it. Very fresh, delicious and just the right size!
The three stars are for how dry the chicken was in both sandwiches, the wait time and also the fact they said they did not have unsweetened tea at all.
Now, maybe it was just an off day for this particular location, no idea. But to not even have unsweet tea is rather ridiculous, IMO. Not everyone wants the half sugar, half tea concoction which so may refer to as 'Southern sweet' tea. And yes, I am a born and raised Texan and still hate sweet tea. Did not say they could make some if I wanted to wait, just said they don't have unsweet. I would have been willing to wait, but was not even an...
