I ordered a platter with fried catfish grilled shrimp and vegetables. The catfish fillet still had the mud strip in the fish so it was not good in and of itself and had no seasoning on either the fish or the breading. The grill shrimp or medium at best and tasted strange. The vegetables were nothing but sliced squash and zucchini again without any salt but a very oddly tasting Pepper or Cajun seasoning grilled on to them. The side of coleslaw came in a plastic sauce Ramekin and might have been one tablespoon in size. It was an odd gray color instead of the bright white that a mayonnaise based coleslaw should have been. the coleslaw also had a strange grainy texture. The tartar sauce was yellow and I was afraid to try it. The oysters lack seasoning as well and all you could taste was cornmeal and the rice that the dish came with we're not sure if it was supposed to be just rice pilaf or dirty rice but it was overcooked. Oh I almost forgot the jalapeno hush puppies that we had which came out undercooked and are obviously not fresh made but are frozen. I don't understand anybody giving this place a rating above 1 * for it's food. I guess all of its ratings are for the bar.

Stopped in here to see if I could get a quick bite as I was on about a 30 minute window. I had been once before at dinner time and thought perhaps it was a tad pricy, but wanted to give it another shot and the lunch menu is pretty cool. I asked for the catfish and had it blackened. I asked for extra blackened as I do love that. When it came I was very impressed. It looked so inviting and freshly prepared. The fish was cooked perfectly; completely finished yet retained so much moisture. Great consistency. The fries have a nice spice and I ate more than I should have. By the way, the lunch includes a tea, or DP in my case. $9.99 + tax. So, my entire tab was $10.81. Now I consider that a tremendous deal for a sit down restaurant meal with good food prepared as requested and delicious. You will pay much more for a drive through heart attack in a sack! As far as my timeline, I was in and out in -25 minutes. My server was Jayce and she was very pleasant. I will be back.

First time back in years. We found out that they were one of only a few ppl that had crawfish so we definitely wanted some. I ordered 3lbs and my wife ordered 2lbs. They came out looking amazing however first bite in noticed that they lacked any kind of flavor and over half of my 5lbs were mushy. We paid $17 per pound due to high demand. We informed the manager within minutes of receiving our order and he apologized. We only ate about a pound and decided that it wasn’t worth it. Our waiter told us that we weren’t the only ppl that made comments about the quality of the crawfish. These by far were the worst crawfish I’ve ever had. The manager or the server didn’t offer a discount for the quality however they did offer a slice of cheesecake to make up for the crawfish. We refused, paid our full bill and left. I’ll let you decide whether this place makes sense for you.

I came to this restaurant during lunch time with my girlfriend and I'm sad to say we had a terrible experience here. First the staff, there was only one waitress for the entire store on top of that she was the bartender as well. So needless to say service was extremely slow. Poor lady was running around table to table in such a hurry with no help at all. The entire time I was in the restaurant I only saw her. So needless to say things were a little fishy when I noticed the limited staff and an empty lobby with terrible southern style tiki decor. Secondly is an understatement for how unbelievably disgusting the food was. I wouldn't even say it was second rate food more like lowest of the low quality catfish I've ever had. I'm guessing is it is frozen seafood that's been fried from how wet and greasy the fish was. On top of that they brought out this odd looking "Texas" styled gumbo which I took two bites of and set aside. From being around my girlfriend who is from the gumbo state of Louisiana I can say that, that gumbo is an insult to all those who love and enjoy gumbo. I could tell that it was not fresh and made that day, for the right quality you would look for in the rue and seafood was not there, sadly. Finally after drowning my fish in red sauce to mask the blan, thinly breaded, greasy, and wet flaky catfish. The only thing I enjoyed was the fries. Seeing the bill and noticing how much they really think they could charge for such low quality food, I noticed something. I know this place is called and oyster bar and that they serve fried oysters here but I even I know that you're not supposed to fri everything in the same oil. Yes, I came upon cross contamination folks. I'm allergic to oysters not deathly allergic or anything but I still have throat swelling and hours later i find myself making straight path for the toilet like my life depended on it. Yes I know, "why would you go to an oyster bar if you're allergic to oysters?" But that's not the point, it's a bar, open to everyone. What if I was extremely allergic and I had deathly symptoms from consuming oysters? I've never made a review about any establishment I've been too, but I can't let a management/owner that overworks their employees for nasty food that you can get sick from take money from my fellow consumers. Also, allow the ignorance of cross contamination happen to any other person or persons. There's obviously no regards for their employees or customers here. Please avoid this place at all costs, and this was our first and last visit. I wish I could give no stars. Thanks for the...

To start: went here on a date night to get oysters and crab, our regular place (also a small family owned biz) is all the way in Richardson (Fish Shack if you’re interested, they’re great!) and we didn’t want to have to drive all the way out after working. Immediately, waitresses aren’t great all, hang out in bathrooms chatting and only really care about people that are regulars. The owner on the other hand, is super nice and checked on us more than our waitress. We got 1/2 dozen raw oysters and 1/2 dozen oysters loredo, along with 3/4 lbs crab, and two drinks. Drinks were heavy pour (and not in a good way) and although they have a ‘full bar’ they weren’t able to make a mule. The raw oysters were pretty good, and huge, but, did still have a tough muscle attached that we had to remove ourselves. Premade cocktail sauce, but side horseradish was nice. That’s about where the good food ends. The oysters loredo were just…really odd and didn’t taste very fresh. The crab was underdone, under seasoned, and incredibly difficult to get open because of how soft and bendy the shells were. The butter tasted very odd almost like plastic. Will definitely have to try a boil or crawfish if we go again, but not a place to go if you’re looking for good crab. For an oyster bar, three lackluster oyster variants with muscles still attached was far less than we expected. Inside was sort of cool, but definitely is a hole in the wall. Lots of employee items out and about, and tables and chairs are not clean. Overall, it seems this place has some good reviews because of their crawfish and because people are so used to coming here over and over that they think it’s the best. If you want some easy raw oysters, I was say it’s worth a pop in if you’re nearby, but for anything else you’re better off somewhere else. Side note: also gets pretty loud and rowdy at certain points due to the local haunts yelling and laughing with servers (also the music is stupid loud). Other than the regulars, the two waitresses, the owner, kitchen staff in the back, and one other couple at a table, the place was pretty empty customer wise. Overall, the raw oysters and the owner being so nice are the only reasons this place gets two stars, otherwise, I’d say you’re better off...

I came here for a drink while my husband was getting his hair cut and I received the absolute worst service. I came in at 6:30 sat down and she just looked at me and said WHAT. I sat down smiled and asked for a water. I then asked about their happy hour specials. She rudely told me I was too late. I said its until seven .She rolled her eyes and said its past seven .She checked the time and said "I guess what do you want" I then asked her for a margarita. She walked off I yelled to her that I would like it strawberry I then yelled again for sugar rim. She said we don't have that do you still want it. I yelled yes. She came back with a poorly blended drink and I still tasted it. I asked her could she blend it again she looked so annoyed and said "The best I can do is blend it with a spoon we don't a blended" and walked off. I yelled to her then I'll have it on the rocks. She came back about 5 mins later(Im sitting at the bar) with my drink. I explained that I didn't want it. I didn't want the drink because she was so rude I figured she probably spit in it. She snatched my drink and water. I asked the next guy for a water since my was taken. The lady interrupted him and told him about the situation. He then came to me and explained that He just did a take over and he has new staff and he's here to bring great service and start over. He explained that he didn't have all bar equipment and Thatcher wanted to make sure I had a better experience. If this is the staff they have and they are okay with it this isn't a place I want to be. Bartenders are the face of a bar. A pretty face but terrible service is a bad combo....
