Had a terrible experience tonight. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak over the phone with onions and provolone only. I asked how big the sandwich was, and when I heard it wasnāt very big, I asked for extra steak and provolone cheese. I didnāt see the sandwich until I got home. It was a burger patty, what looks like melted American cheese, bell peppers, mushroom, onions and what looks like thousand island sauce. I figured maybe they mixed up the order. I called multiple times and no one picked up, so I drove another 15-20 minutes back.
I told them I think they may have mixed up the order. I opened the to go box and showed the server/person I spoke with over the phone. She immediately got defensive and told me, āI didnāt mixed up the order, you ordered a cheesesteak with onions, extra meat and extra provolone cheeseā, then told me thatās what I got. I told her this isnāt a cheesesteak, itās literally a burger patty, with what I mentioned above. The cook was nearby and said I got a cheesesteak, what I ordered. Then asked me, ādo you know what a cheesesteak is?ā I told him a sandwich with thinly sliced/shaved steak and cheese. He said well, thatās how they taught me how to make it. Then he said, āwell you screwed things up when you asked for extra meat and extra cheeseā. Iām like all that means is adding additional thinly sliced/shaved steak and extra provolone cheese. The server then said she couldnāt refund me and couldnāt pull up my order, although she just read me my order, but her manager will be in tomorrow and I can ask him. Terrible experience. Iām never ordering...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst, let me say, I have a sensitive stomach to food that might not be handled properly, or left out too long. I'm the opposite of an iron stomach, but properly handled and prepared food doesn't make me sick.
I like their burgers, and they never make me sick.
Best onion rings around!
One time I got the reubon, with hot mustard. It tasted great, but i got sick. Another time they made a new sandwich for me, basically combining a burger and a reubon. It tasted great. I got sick. (Might be an issue with their corned beef)
The last time, I got the fish. Their fish fillets are big. Too big. The center was only warm, while the outside was completely cooked. Still, it hit the spot. I did have to explain to my server what malt vinegar was, and that is a common thing people want with fried fish. He finally found some for me.
Staff turnover has been atrocious, because business isn't doing well.
The prices are very high. This is why business isn't doing well.
It could be a great little pub, but they need better food storage/handling/preparation, and to retain an experienced cook. They need to lower prices, so people want to come here. 1 meal and 2 drinks can easily set you back $60. I recommend some activities to bring people in (maybe a DnD night, for example), and to have some board games.
They do have a trivia night, but that's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I'll start with the good. The manager Kris was so polite and helpful. I'm from of of town and ended up here kind of by a flip of a coin. I really am indecisive about what to get from new places and he recommended the Ruben. I took him at his word and it definitely did not disappoint. It was delicious and wasn't overall too much. I also got the fried apple which was so good and the perfect sweet treat after a long drive.
Now to the not so great. After being in the car all day I was really hoping to find a place to sit outside but the lack of umbrella or any type of shade coverage on the patio was a huge disappointment and it seemed that several people had the same thoughts. It would have just been too bright to sit outside with no cover. Inside was decent but honestly looked like it is designed by someone who watched a few too many sitcoms and didn't really have any type of pub feel to it. Originally I was really hoping for a frozen margarita but was informed that don't have any due to not having a machine. I ended up with a margarita on the rocks which tasted great but really not what I...
