I was over charged for the Whatacatch with fries and drink. The menu on the left side about half way down says $3.99 and add an apple pie for an additional $.69 or something like that. The total for that and 4 Justaburgers was $14.23. That's what was told to me thru the speaker. I was totaling up in my head and that was way off. Last time I got Justaburgers in Arlington they were $1.09 ea, which was 2 mths ago. This was $6.76 for 4 without cheese. When I got to the 1st window to pay I asked the lady nicely if she charged for whataburger jr's instead of Justaburgers. She was very nice and advised me that she was going to get some help. The girl from the food window came back and talked to her and walked away. The original cashier stated that they were going to cash me out at the other window. I said thank you and drove up. The girl opened the window and said my total was $11.23. I knew this still wasn't right but I handed over my card and she returned my card and receipt. I waited for my food and when she had the bag inside I asked if I could get some salt and pepper. She put it in the bag, handed it to me and I said thank you and she made a shew type motion with her hand. That threw up a flag to me. I looked at my receipt and remembering she told me the total was $11.23 the actual amount charged to my card was the first price told to me of $14.23. WHY LIE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND CHARGE A DIFFERENT AMOUNT ON THEIR CARDS??? THERE ARE CAMERAS RECORDING, ARE THERE NOT??? I even explained that the whatacatch was $3.99 and they charged $6.39. How many other times have they told people one price and charged another? That's the worst customer service I've ever received. The first lady was nice. It's the girl that was working the food window. I was going to go back and take a pic of the menu board showing the $3.99 whatacatch meal but I got realky sick so I'm not sure if she had her buddy do something to the sandwich. The sandwich was smaller so I figured it was a lunch special and price. I wasn't going to call because I figured she was waiting for and ready to block/intercept the call. All because she knew what she'd done. I'm not wanting her to lose her job but she doesn't need to be on a register. If the company needs I can send a copy of my receipt. I will NEVER go to that Whataburger ever again. Since there's not another one over here I'll take my business to In-N-Out or 5 Guys. For a company trying to expand across the country a bad word spreads faster than a good word. You have to have employees that actually care. I can't imagine what she'd do to a customer who asks questions but not nice and polite, like I did. I guess it's time for me to try 5guys burgers. I've been wanting to try them. Avoid this place like the food poisoning that their stale room-temperature burgers will give you, at least until some EXTREME changes in staffing and management are implemented.
As I worked in the plaza near here, I used to come here frequently before and after work, but after the last few times? Never again! I'll begin with the most recent experience I had, just earlier today.
Today (July 10th), I had to head in to work to cover someone's shift near break of dawn. I ordered a small hamburger with cheese and no other toppings, and a small chocolate shake to drink on the side. Because of the time of day, the Whataburger was nearly empty of customers. Despite this, it took them 30 MINUTES to fill my order, the hamburger was STALE AND NOT EVEN WARM, and the shake was almost completely MELTED by the time they put it on the counter for me -- AND THEY MANAGED TO FORGET THE SINGLE BURGER TOPPING, THE CHEESE! 2 hours later, I was in the bathroom at work VOMITING and suffering from severe diarrhea -- and since Whataburger had provided THE ONLY FOOD I HAD EATEN ALL DAY, I have good cause to suspect that the burger had been sitting around for at LEAST a few hours, if not all night or even longer!
That was, believe it or not, the THIRD TIME OUT OF THREE, IN A ROW, OVER THE COURSE OF 4 DAYS, that they made a glaringly negligent mistake, despite me pointing it out to them afterwards AND, after talking to the manager -- who treated me with scorn and suspicion, and who ultimately refused to direct me to the GM -- eventually receiving a refund for SOME of the orders.
The night before this (July 9th), I ordered a small fries and a plain hamburger with only cheese. After a 20 minute wait, they forgot the cheese, and the fries were cold, mushy, and unsalted! Absolutely disgusting, I should have known better than to go back there again after that!
The first time they made a significant mistake was when I ordered a hamburger without cheese or any other toppings (on July 7th), after a 20 minute wait, they give me a What-A-Chicken. How is that even CLOSE to being a hamburger? I'll tell you how: it isn't!
Prior to that day, I had never had any issues with the location, which is why I kept coming back; that goodwill is completely spent now.
