When we arrived, it felt like they were trying to deter us from eating based on the things they were saying (naming foods that were not going to be served). This did not deter the two of us who had arrived to eat, and so we were seated out on the patio area, where we were served water. After ten minutes on the patio, we asked to be seated inside and were placed at an inside table. We then placed our order with the manager who seated us there--our original server no longer served us, nor did any of the other servers, only the manager.
At this point, we had already been there for twenty-five minutes, and were just then being asked what we would like to eat. However, not only were we not asked what we would like to drink, but we weren't even brought anymore water. Time passed until we were there for fourty-five minutes: still no water refills offered to us, no offers from the drink menu, still no dinner which we had already ordered, and--the biggest disappointment of all--not one server nor the manager came to our table. They walked by numerous times, but never to our table, as though we were invisible and undeserving of service. At this point, close to an hour in, we left the restaurant.
After we departed the restaurant, my date placed a call to the manager of the Winslow's ( who had served us) and explained why we left which entailed all of the details described here. The manager offered a million excuses, none of which were acceptable. He was inadequate in responding to the complaints, and offered nothing to remedy the situation. We informed him that we would never return, and would offer our review on our experience online.
We dined at another restaurant not too far away in the downtown area of Fort Worth, a venue by the name of Cantina Laredo. The service was impeccable, and we were able to eat out on the patio, without delay.... We were promptly seated, served, and the service was consistent, professional, and overall completely enjoyable. This was the dining experience that saved a day that was almost ruined due to the awful experience...
Read moreWe stopped in for a date night dinner on a Saturday night just before 7pm and it was our first visit so we didnât know what to expect. Place was full and they sat us at the last table available inside. We were looking at the drink menu and realised they had a happy hour on a Saturday for 15 more minutes, awesome! Got our wine orders in along with a few starters - the Parmesan truffle fries and a Caesar salad with chicken. Typically when we share dishes we have to ask for small plates, but here they brought them out automatically which is lit and a nice touch of refined service we appreciate. They checked in a few times but we were eating slow and catching up after a long week. For a main, we ordered the pasta (thereâs only one on the menu) with mushrooms and it was fire. All of the dishes we had were flavourful without being salty, oily, or overly buttery. Everything was perfectly balanced flavour wise which is hard to find as many of the more âfamousâ Fort Worth spots use too much salt, spice and butter, possibly to hide mediocre ingredients. Our waitress Jade was amazing. Attentive, observant, and prompt. To help with the pasta, we asked a server for a spoon and he brought it out on a plate atop a napkin - again, details of refined service. 10/10 service. The atmosphere is absolutely lovely - quaint with subdued lighting - they make the most of the space they have. Wine list has something for everybody but I gravitated toward their New Zealand pinot Grigio and sauvignon Blanc given it was hot out. I want to try their cocktails next time. We...
Read moreâWhere friendships beginâ? Tell that to the red head behind the bar. I came with two friends and my sweet pup. The hostess sat us inside. I thought that was weird with a dog, but the hostess knows the rules so who am I to argue. After sitting at our table for ten minutes and having several of the wait staff interact with my dog, the red head came over to my table and said âdogs arenât allowed in here. You can sit outside.â I replied, âsorry, we were just seated here!â She looked at me dead in the face and said, âThis is a RESTAURANT.â After we self seated our selves outside, she proceeded to converse with customers at the bar, rolling her eyes about the situation. My friend went inside to grab our silverware and went to clarify with the red head that we didnât know dogs werenât allowed inside and weâre just following the lead of the sweet hostess. She then said, âDONâT BE RUDE. This is a RESTAURANT.â After my friend joined us back at the table, we watched her through the window recounting the story yet again to customers. I personally watched her say âI told her dogs werenât allowed inside and she (me) said, âyes I canâ.â FALSE. I said nothing of the sort. Her customer service might favor those that tip her at the bar but thatâs where it ends. This has been one of my favorite spot for quite a while. I am extremely disappointed by the way she handled the situation with such unprofessionalism.
Easton, you were a GEM. Given the situation, you maintained the utmost professionalism and checked on us appropriately....
