Ok. So first off let me say that the donuts are very yummy!! And they did not get hard even after leaving them unsealed overnight!! And I would give five stars for the donuts alone, but the customer service I received was a 3 star! When we ordered I asked if the bars were filled, the short blonde young lady said no and so we were getting ready to pay. As we were paying, we overheard a customer asking if the bars were filled, and the talk brunette, said no, BUT she could fill it. So I was delighted to hear that and asked the young lady who served/rang up our donuts if I could have my chocolate bar filled. She seemed extremely bothered by me asking her and did a quick eye roll with a short sigh. She said yes, took our box set aside and proceeded to take an order from a customer in the far back of the counter - meanwhile the customer who asked for his bar to be filled was given his "filled" bar and then after about 10 minutes of waiting I saw the young lady who helped us take the box of donuts to the back to get one chocolate bar filled with custard - who by the way was filled by the tall brunette. Will I go back - yes! Only cause the donuts were very good!! But I won't bother the short blonde young lady to fill my bar, she might have more important...
Read moreThis was the first time my husband and I had enough money to try out this fantastic little spot. I had tried for years to be able to grab a bite here, but with my illness and the economy and his hours being cut, I wasn’t sure we could ever afford it. We thought it was a bit out of reach. Well, the portion sizes definitely make up for what may seem a bit pricey. You can easily get 2 meals alone with one small burrito and my hubby has a great appetite! I was stunned! We placed our order on the internet and I ordered a Kolache, which is noted on the menu that one day notice in advance is needed, which I saw, but under the savory meat section. I placed the order and within 5 minutes, the phone rang and Trish was so helpful and told me that you need to preorder the Kolache. I was stunned that I didn’t interpret that correctly- shows you what a dork I am! Hubby picked it up and we ate half our nummies, and were rolly polly and had to nap! Wonderful food, wonderful service. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WONDERFUL LITTLE PLACE!! !Remember, great places attract great crowds and they close at 1:00 pm. They open at 4:30 am, so please adjust your schedule to accommodate yourself and most importantly, to help the staff!! Please tip them. They deserve...
Read moreFood and service are OUTSTANDING! The donuts are all super fresh, and HUGE portions. My daughter and I split a chocolate filled donut (about $3.50)- 5 stars! My husband got a cinnamon roll (about $3.50) and could only eat about 1/3 of it because it was as big as his head. And he has a big head. LOL
We each got an espresso drink, which oddly enough it's a donut shop not a coffee shop and it has better espresso drinks than most coffee shops in Yuma. Go figure. We loved our iced caramel latte.
We also got a large burrito (egg, cheese, potato - about $10) and it was big enough for two of us to split it (even if we didn't eat the donuts lol).
Donut Corral is clean, the environment is welcoming, and like I said the service was just outstanding. Very friendly. Not something we come across every day. Worth driving out to the Foothills for, for sure.
With all that being said, the HIGHLIGHT of our visit to Donut Corral (besides the friendly staff) was the PIE COOKIE! Holy moly, I don't even know what the actual name was but we tried the cookie with pecan pie on top and my husband and daughter both said it was the best part of our...
