I’ve been told I could find the best carne asada in Yuma. Based on a recommendation from a local resident, I decided to try it on a recent visit to Yuma. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I was very disappointed. I ordered the #8 combo - a carne asada burrito, shredded beef taco with beans and rice with an ice tea to drink. I asked for no tomatoes. When I received my order, the first thing I noticed, were the tomatoes heavily piled on the taco. Could they have thought I said extra tomatoes? I don’t know, so I proceeded to pick them all off. Then I started with the taco. It wasn’t the worse I’ve ever had, but was very greasy- dripping all over the place. Next, I tried the beans and rice. They were okay, but it’s pretty hard to screw up beans and rice. Finally, after not being impressed so far, I started on the carne asada which I was really looking forward too. Again, disappointment was my reaction. The meat was burnt, and the burrito only had the burnt meat and some cabbage on it. It was completely lacking any flavor - aside from the burnt taste. The ice tea was pretty good. When I finished, I sat at the table waiting on my check. Waited and waited - about 25 minutes. The waitress came and cleared the dishes, but no check. The menu price on the combo was $12.99. Not sure how much the drink was. Finally, I was tired of waiting, so I walked up to the register. My total came to $21.00. Not sure how. The ice tea was good, but not that good! Would I recommend this place to...
Read moreLet me tell you.... our meals and the customer service were AMAZING!! We selected two burritos: Chili Relleno and Beef (enchilada style, which came with rice and beans), and Sopa De Video (soup). I can write, with confidence, that our meals consisted of the best Mexican food we've ever tasted! The portions were ample and presentation was appealing. My husband and I were impressed with how much flavor, individually and collectively, the ingredients had. Culinary masterpieces, no joke! The employer/employee was very personable, carrying on a pleasant conversation with us, while we waited for our to-go food. He seemed to have a "genuineness" about him that made us feel like he was an old friend. In today's business dealings, true care for customers is a rare trait.... Well, this business still possesses that quality and I enjoyed spending my money here. The prices are reasonable. We spent less than $20......two meals from fast food can cost more. I encourage you to patronize this establishment and have an all encompassing, satisfying meal/dining...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting this restaurant. It was bit hard to find at first because it is tucked away in the corner of this shopping mall. Anyway, we were in the mood for some good Mexican food.....and lo-and-behold!!! The food was truly amazing and not to mention pipping HOT 🥵 as in temperature. You can see the steam rolling off the beans, rice, and main dish! I had the combo #4 which is a chile relleno, folded taco, rice and beans. My husband had the chicken enchilada plate. Honestly the food reminded me of when my mom use to cook food for us as a little girl....she was the best!!! Since we went on a Sunday there was only one server, so not sure if the rest of week has more than one, none the less service was prompt and polite. We definitely...
