Worst experience ever, Took my family there today 3 April for breakfast ordered a specialty omlett that started out at $8.99 and added three items to it, my son-in-law and I each ordered the same when we received our bill they charged us $20 for each of the two omelettes that we received including my daughter and my wife's bill the total bill came to over $67 for breakfast. When I questioned how much each item that was added to the original omelette of $8.99 I was told that there was a four dollar charge for each additional item that was added as a side item although we did not receive a full side item amount of food it was just an additional amount of food so we did not even receive the full additional side item amount of food but we were charged For the Full side item not how does that work. The manager approached us with an attitude right off the bat thinking we were trying to get something for nothing when we explained the situation to her that we were never told how much each additional item was and that it was ridiculous that just ate omelette with for meets in a small bowl of fruit and a glass of water would cost $20 she said oh well that's just how it is and we're not going to do anything for you. When I told the lady that I was disappointed I had to pay the bill and that I would never return back to that restaurant again she looked at me smiled and said great have a good day and then when I told her I was going to write a bad review for her online she said we welcome any review you want to write. We have not gone to that restaurant in over two years due to the last time we went there we noticed that when they were passing food from the kitchen to the area where the waitresses pick up the food that one of the waitress picked up a plate and pulled a large hair out of the food and still delivered it to the customer. We decided to give the restaurant a Nother try after a couple of years just to see how things were there because we had always enjoyed it before but the place has always looked very run down old and dirty. And this was the experience that we got on this return we will never return back to that place again and I would suggest that if you're ever in the area and looking for a good restaurant to go to do not go to that local establishment go to the Denny's across the street or find another local establishment other than that because the service there is terrible. My wife and I went to Olive Garden on our 12th anniversary which is about three years ago and my wife placed an order with no mushrooms when they brought the plate out it had mushrooms on it we didn't say anything about it and understood mistakes do happen they came and took it back in and replaced it midway through the meal the manager approached us and said you know what since we screwed up your anniversary we are going to pay for your entire meal and dessert is on us as well and if you don't want dessert get a dessert and take it with you we apologize for messing it up and we wish that you would come back and see us again now that's customer service and that's how you continue to get people to come to your establishment we have been there ever cents for anniversaries and never have had a problem since. We were not looking for a free meal we were just looking for fairness and we do not honestly believe that a small egg white omelette with three meats and cheese with a very small bowl of fruit should cost $20, $40 for two plates unbelievable when the original omelette started it $8.99 so we added three meats and that brought it to $20 unbelievable. Do not waste your time going to this dive. It's just sad that I even have to write this place one star because if I...
Read moreI honestly have no clue how this place has such a good rating - our visit was the exact opposite of everything we saw in reviews when we were trying to find a quick place to grab a bite to eat.
To start, the waitress who finally came around to get our drinks after sitting for 10 minutes unattended spilled one on the table then left it for 5 minutes before coming back with napkins for us to clean it up, she didn’t even offer to help. Then it took 5 minutes to flag someone else down for straws and a spoon to stir our coffee with. When my husband asked for actual milk for his coffee, the server brought out an entire glass - which they then tried to charge us for when we simply wanted enough for our coffee.
Then getting our order in took another 20 minutes from a different server who had a horribly unpleasant attitude as if she was bothered by us being there. When our food finally came, we were vastly underwhelmed. I’ll start with the good though - their French fries are absolutely delicious… they’re the battered style. Other than that? Not good at all. My husband ordered a garden omelette with home fries. The ‘garden’ omelette must’ve been from Mr McGregors garden which Peter Rabbit pillaged, as there was a remarkable lack of veggies, or seasonings for that matter, but an excess 1/4” layer of cheese on the top. His home fries were essentially raw; very soft and underdone. No where close to the crispy potato’s that home fries should be. My roast beef dip was beyond dry and flavorless, the flavor of horseradish was no where to be found. The au jus was barely flavored water. Even after asking for a side of horseradish couldn’t save the flavorless, dry sandwich which I ended up leaving half of behind.
Even then, getting the horseradish and hot sauce for my husbands flavorless omelette was a task! In over 15 minutes of getting our food, our waitress didn’t come check on how our food was once. Being in the corner of the restaurant, no other serves even came close to where we were for us to flag down. I had to walk to get a server, when our server somehow just popped up out of nowhere to see what I needed.
All in all, I cannot recommend this place at all. Coming from a small town on the east coast, little family run diners with a homey feel are something I just adore and want my son to grow up with just like I did. Yet this one just was an absolute strike out. Flavorless and careless food, lackluster service when the service even occurs. For myself, my husband, and our 5 year old… we spent just under $50 for mediocre food and worse service.
Oh, and the milk charge when it was supposed to be just for coffee? The lady at the register had to check to see if it was ok to remove that charge, even when she could’ve seen that the glass was still more than 3/4 full on our table. That should be an easy removal for any hostess, which just speaks of their...
Read moreLet me start of with the positives: Our server, Jordyn (sp?) was a dream. She is professional, personable, and attentive (I was never in need of a drink).
My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, at Jordyn’s recommendation, and was very happy with his selection.
On the other hand, I was not. The chicken parmesan was soggy from sitting in the combination of marina and pasta water at the bottom of my plate. I still powered through because that’s just my personality - I hate being that customer who returns things or makes an employee’s life harder. That being said, this is why I decided to write this review:
As I’m sitting waiting for my meal and even during the meal, the servers (except Jordyn who was helping other customers) were arguing in the middle of the dinning room area (the path that leads to the bar area) about how Tina, or something similar, didn’t want to take any tables. Basically, they were playing hot potato with the latest walk-ins.
One of the servers walks into our area and yells “hey!” And snaps her fingers towards some customer sitting across the room. The older ladies, the new walk-ins, were surprised thinking they were being called but she responde “not you guys” and led another group into the bar area.
The cherry on top, I’m assuming this person was the manager as she was wearing a different outfit as the rest of the servers, was talking to another set of customers about a recent confrontation she had somewhere that asked her to mask up her toddler. She proceeded to loudly state that masks force us to breathe in our carbon dioxide and as a result it kills our brains. This was followed up with making fun of China and Asians for bringing over the “wu tang world flu” and a few other choice phrases.
Constant arguing among the staff could be heard from the kitchen. While I could not always make out what was being said, I could hear the person I assume was the manager (she has a tattoo behind her left ear) yelling back from the hostess station.
Again, thank you Jordyn for taking care of us during this chaotic dinner shift. You were legitimately the only positive I could take away from my visit.
Owners/District/Regional managers, I visited Daybreakers Friday, 3/19/21 around 6:30-7:45pm just in case you want to check out the cameras and confirm what I’m...
