I'm giving an update to my review. The food is excellent there is no question about that. But one of the key attractions for us coming here was the waitress name Esmeralda she was always so very kind so efficient and really cared about making her customers happy. I know from speaking with her that she really enjoyed working there. But something happened because she is no longer there and I know she would not have left on her own something made her leave. So I have downgraded this from five stars to three stars the food is excellent but to let go of an excellent employee well that's just doesn't really sit well with me I'll go back there but I surely won't be going back there as often as we were. Very disappointed that they let Esmeralda go

I just was reading the reviews on this restaurant. And I read the negative reviews and I cannot understand. I guess the old saying goes you cannot please all the people all the time. This is an excellent Mexican restaurant been here a couple of 3 times and every time is better than the last time. The last two times we had Esmeralda as a server and she is superb the food is excellent and I cannot give this a higher rating if I could I would. The prices are reasonable for the quantity of food you get. And the quality is second to none I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking for a good Mexican food restaurant it's in fountain in South Carolina even though I can only give it five stars I'm giving it eight. Also some of the people complained about the washroom I do check washrooms when I go to a restaurant they give me a good indication how clean a place is. Used to be a 4 star. Went for 4th time and waiter was so obvious he didn't want to serve my co driver and I bee cause we arrived at 845pm (even though online said 1030 pm close.) He handed us menus and came back shortly and we asked for ones more minute as he tapped his watch and alluded to the business closing shortly and we need to hurry. The salsa which was always good had a foul taste (both red salsas.) That was before I found a hair from someone's nether regions in it. I understand that can happen and did not yet mention this. My co driver never got his taco, I had to go inside to get my own drink refill. I noticed the only 3 employees sitting down at a table both times I went inside. The service was very bad, the food was ok, but then the owner comes and asks me how things were because he was sitting next to us. I took him about the rude waiter (who was great always in the past) and the hair in the salsa and the taco never coming and having to get my own refills. He goes and talks with the waiter and brings him out and says we're lying because his waiter gives a different version totally denying the tapping of his wrist to hurry us along. He then says the hair was an onion and says the meal in free. I told him I want concerned about the price but the service was terrible. He doesn't address the other issues. I them look the waiter in his eyes and ask him "are you telling me you didn't tap your wrist? " He responds with um um well um kind of talk. THEY LOST SOME CUSTOMERS FOREVER. It appears many 5 star ratings were suddenly added in the last couple weeks because there was obvious low star reviews over the last months, I'm sure they were friends of friends of the owner because you'll see a trend in bad reviews for this place over...

Yall! One of the worst experience I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant! We did have a party of nine, so we knew we had to wait for tables. Which was fine with us! The next thing, you know, we see groups of four to groups of eight being seated before us. After waiting for 40mins we told we would split up to make it easier. By this point tables had started clearing out. We ended up seating our selves. Cleaned our own table and still had to ask for chips. My husband is a very good tipper. You keep his drink full he will be happy and take care of you. My husband had to get up every time and walk to the bar to get a new drink And then ended up having to ask for chips multiple times. The chips came. They were stale. At this point, you would think they would try to redeem themselves a little. Didn’t at all! Food starts slowly coming out. The child got her food last. Ended up not eating it because by that point was filled up on chips and drink. I finally got my food which was 4 shrimp, rice and cheese. For nine dollars! It was cold had to send it back for it to be warmed up in the microwave. And again at this point they had a dinner rush, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but most of the restaurant is cleared out… we get our food, they never checked on us again! We asked for our checks, then they bring us a dessert and say sorry! My husband has never not left a tip but this was ridiculous! I’ve ordered food from this place multiple times for lunch to go.
