2 stars because we genuinely love Dion’s, the team, the food, & atmosphere. But this is by far the worst experience I’ve had at this location. I can not believe how the manager on this shift runs this crew. A young lady named Alyssa is quite rude and extremely obnoxious. She was the only employee not actively doing anything. I have been to Dion’s my whole life, I understand they search for young, energetic teens who are supportive to their team, but Alyssa was far from! While the phones were ringing, almost off the hook she just stood at the serving counter. Screaming for Subs or salads to grab the phones, she was not stocking, not folding any boxes but making an extremely annoying “hoot”ing sound. Why couldn’t she be a team player and help out her crew? Mind you, not one red or black shirt manager to tell her anything. My family chose to sit as far away from the registers as possible and you can still hear her hooting. Another customer sitting in the table across from us, a father and his daughter even commented to us how annoying that sound was. I thought to myself maybe I’m just being a Karen but she didn’t stop! I went to the serving counter to ask for some boxes and she was completely rude to me cut me off before I could finish speaking. I can not believe Dion’s has someone on their payroll this unprofessional and disrespectful. I am completely disappointed and ashamed of this young ladies behavior. Now to touch on cleanliness of this location. Children's finger prints all over the windows and pictures. The lobby itself had not been picked up or wiped down, there were red trays and silver trays in every direction. I kindly asked the lady at the register to ask if someone can wipe a table down and she said “I’ll find someone”, I ended up going to the bathroom and wetting a paper towel to wipe the table we sat at, myself. The booth was disgusting! Crumbs, straws, and crumbled napkins were shoved in the corners. It’s so sad to see this location have no upkeep. As a manager, I would be completely embarrassed if my team behaved in this manner or my office become this unsavory. I’ll keep the 38 minute to our favorite Coors &...
Read moreAs someone who has eaten at Dion's for my entire life, and someone who also worked at the Central and Monroe location for almost 3 years, I can say that Dion's is one of the best pizza, salad, and sub restaurants around. The food is excellent here. The employees are friendly. The staff mostly consists of high school and college age students, and they make this business model work with flying colors. The Dion's experience is also consistent across all of their locations. I've eaten at most of their stores, and you can expect the same high quality across all of them. My only 2 complaints with Dion's are very small ones, but I think they're significant enough to warrant a 4 star rating. Firstly, I think all of the gourmet pizzas should be offered at Large (16 inch). I've ordered a Large Duke City probably close to a hundred times, and almost universally they give me a Medium (14 inch) instead. This is a confusion that could pretty easily be remedied by offering the gourmet pizzas at Large size by default. My other complaint is that Dion's doesn't hire people with visible tattoos or facial piercings/gauged ears. In 2018, I think this policy is tantamount to discrimination. I once tried to go back to working for Dion's because I left on good terms, but was told that I couldn't be rehired because of my tattoos, and wearing a long sleeved shirt to cover the tattoos was turned down when I offered to do so. Tattooed people work just as hard as non-tattooed people (lul). But other than those 2 things, Dion's is a great place to eat. Their company motto of "a store on the moon by the year 3000" seems to be working. I could see Dion's going nationwide eventually, and even worldwide. If they wanted to offer the Duke City and other green chile items at out of state locations, I think it would be a big hit. So kudos to Dion's for sticking around this long, and for being a great place to eat and a generally great...
Read moreHad a wonderful day today with the entire family and decided to conclude the evening with dinner at dions. We made a HUGE mistake. I stress that if anyone wishes to dine at this establishment, I recommend go to the one on coors and central or Montano. We ordered 1 large pizza, 2 subs and 1 gallon of lemonade with 6 cups. Then made a separate transaction for a chef salad. We requested the lemonade right away due to very thirsty kiddos. We waited 45 min ... And waited. And in this time we requested the lemonade but they said they still has to make some, at the same moment they were handing out lemonade to other customers after us. 🤔 50min later our order is ready. And It gets worse. .... Pizza with the side that had the bacon had a funny taste; similar to cleaning products. Kids didn't eat it. Roast beef sub had only one strip of meat in it. And they somehow lost the order for the salad. Even after we waited an additional 30min. Kids ate only the cheese pizza while my wife and I shared her sandwich. We got our refund on the salad that went MIA, tossed the pizza that tasted like fabulosos and left to go to hibachi one. My family and I are 100% convinced we will not revisit any dions establishment in the foreseen future. Terrible customer service, on top of employees that are comfortable with lying...
