Due to adverse weather in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area, I was delayed, but re-booked and re-routed on a later American Airlines flight ✈️.. I needed to eat, so among the options in Terminal B at Tucson, I went with El Charro..

I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive, as I tried the downtown location two nights earlier and didn't walk away overly impressed.. That review will be done later..

That said, Matthew, serving at the bar, made my visit to this airport location quite grand!!

From a pair of modified Cadillac margaritas (Patron Reposado versus the Añejo) and quite decadent grilled fish tacos, my visit to the airport El Charro was far more enjoyable than my visit two days earlier to the OG location..

The margaritas were smooth, and as singles, well-poured.. They were balanced, refreshing, and the half-salt and half-Tajin rimmed glasses were perfect!!

The grilled fish tacos were amply portioned and flavorful.. I did add a dash of original Cholula to both, but I suspect they would have held their own, un-touched..

All in all, a great and reasonably priced experience for a restaurant bar and eatery.. 10 out of...

I called in an order at 12:35 pm for a 4:00 pm pick-up. I felt rushed by the guy taking my order & was not sure my order was received. I called @ 12:37 to verify the order & change the pick-up time to 4:00 pm. The guy told me the order was already being prepared & that he changed the pick up time.

I arrived at 4 pm & there were 4 employees at the counter but no one acknowledged me. After a while there were several people waiting behind me. When I was finally acknowledged, I told them I was there to pick up an order. The girl went to get my food, returned & asked if it could be under a different name. Another employee came & did the same thing she apologized said her manager was aware.

The order could not be found the manager came out & retook my order, offered an apology & said they were preparing the order now.

After a bit she came & charged me $48.75 for 2 dozen mini chimis. She offered me a drink. I left with my order at 4:59 pm. Here is my evaluation!

Customer Service: 2 Food Appearance: 3 Food Taste: 4 the chimis were good but not crispy. The pico bland & did not...

Horrible service every single time. I thought I would never go back after three visits over the last year all with terrible service (completely ignored, wouldn't bring water, wrong food, rude staff, forgot orders, took 15 min to get bill, overcharged my card $2 more than authorized, etc). But their food is good and today the place was only about 25% full and a different server guy. I sat down at the half empty bar and waited patiently for 2 min while the server did receipts. He then noticed me and said hello and would be right with me while he served food over to a couple on the other side of the bar. No problem. Then he turned around and right as he was about to talk to me, a loud, obnoxious guy knocked against everyone's chairs making his way to the end and yelling out his order for a burrito saying he was in a rush. The server then immediately went over to take the guys order and then started making his drink, completely forgetting about me patiently waiting for several minutes. So I got up and walked away....
