1st) Upon check-in, I was waiting behind another guest who was trying to work out the cheapest room to check into. The reception kept telling the guest rooms were sold out. About 5 minutes into the conversation another person showed up and the reception helped them, ignoring me next in line. Still the receptionist went back in trying to find a room for this first guest eventually finding a room. I had to wait another 5 minutes while the guest sent this young girl to recover her licences plate to give to receptionist.
2nd) I already had a reservation and the check in process took about 3minutes which was great. However, when I requested for a receipt/itinerary. They informed me it would be emailed (been over a week and still nothing).
3rd) when making my reservations, it included a standard complementary breakfast each morning. However, the receptionist informed me they no longer provide that service.
4th) I asked if there were pamphlets, or papers in the rooms with local restaurants, etc. Like many hotels I I stay. They did not have any.
5th) The next morning I explored the region and got to work on my assignment I was hired to do in the area and upon returning in the Mid Afternoon. Found my room uncleaned and cared by housekeeping. (Bed not crisps, shower towels not picked up, trash bins not picked up). In the heat 110 degree outside I was looking forward to returning to a cool, clean room, but NOPE!
6th) I called down to the front desk to ask if housekeeping was just backed up. First to be put on hold, only to get a condescending tone from the receptionist once she returned. With attitude towards me and explaining the hotel no longer has housekeeping enter rooms while guests are attending but they will send them.to replace towels, and take out trash if I liked. WELL, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW PRIOR TO RESERVING THE ROOM, AT LEAST DURING CHECK IN BEEN GIVEN A HEADS UP.
7th) I wanted to just relax and watch TV. However, the remote required extra pressure to function while pressing the button, the channels were limited and I couldn't navigate where to search for New releases to purchase?
8th) the parking lot was over crowded. With what appeared to be White Company Jeeps for the hotel? Which would always be parked in the nearest parking spaces to the doors of the hotel. Why would you steal guest parking spaces ? Park in the far back of the building so guest have the convenience parking. We are paying for hospitality and they are getting paid to work. It's common sense. Especially in 110 degree weather! I I'm not paying to walk farther from my vehicle.
9th) the walls were paper thin. I could hear housekeeping vacuuming next door. Constantly bumping into the walls.
The entire stay was perhaps the worst Hotel stay I've experienced. Even with my discount. It was not worth the money I paid. Literally for the same price I could have stay at an Air B&B. But I really was paying for the breakfast & housekeeping. Which I was not informed.they no longer offered in fact lied to because my reservations specially mentions the breakfast.
I would not recommend staying at...
Read moreWARNING I WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! My wife and I stayed at the La Quinta at 7001 South Tucson Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85706 room 207 on December 11th and 12th 2016. When I arrived after driving for a day from Colorado I was told to come in from the side door because its closer to my room, when I walked in there were pizza boxes on the floor because the trash can was full at the side entrance the halls in the entire place had not been vacuumed from the look of them in a very long time. My wife and I just went to our room and fell asleep without looking over our room much we realized the shower had pink mold growing in it and the fridge door would not even close because of ice built up in it.The night of the 12th we were getting ready for bed when I pulled down the blanket I see dog paw prints in dirt and realized they had not changed our sheets from the last persons stay. I went to the front desk to get clean sheets and bedding . The front desk clerk sent up new bedding then when I took off the dirty bedding to my shock and surprise we found a two foot in diameter urine stain. I went right back to the front desk to let him know and he tried giving us another room. We went into that room room 204 and found that bed had urine and sweat stains covering 90% of that king size bed third room try room 202 and same thing sweat and urine stains over the whole bed and the second two rooms smelled very bad like sweat and urine! In the end we stayed in the original room with the smaller urine stain. The next morning I was watching the cleaning lady after wondering why my bed was not clean after "cleaning" 8 rooms she had one bed spread and one top sheet no bottom sheets and no pillow cases and a bunch of towels after 8 rooms! So when I was getting my money back from the manager and showing her the pictures of the bedding and beds in her rooms I told her about the house keeper and she acted as if she knew the rooms were not getting cleaned right and knew the bedding was not getting cleaned in between customers. I told her if she did not believe me about the house keeper she should come up and look in the house keepers cart with me she said she does not have time for that and when I said I am going to contact her corporate office and the health department about this issue she said "that's fine they come inspect us twice a year and I do not care your free to do as you want sir"! After showing her the pictures she told us to leave immediately or she would call the police we had not raised our voice or had any reason to get a response like that! When I was posting a review online I also came across someone saying they got bed bugs from that hotel not a shocker since they don't wash the bedding! In my eyes this hotel is knowingly just spreading lice, bedbugs and any urine biased sicknesses such as scabies! Something needs to be done about that La Quinta and the poor management it has. Brenda is the worst manager I have ever met at any hotel and I doubt I will ever stay at a La Quinta again if this is what I can expect to get...
Read moreWe’re a military family and currently transitioning from Korea - CA - AZ - NM - TX. We’re a family of 2 with 2 dogs and was very happy to find La Quinta because it seemed super pet friendly. We had our first La Quinta stay near Grand Canyon and it was FANTASTIC. They even had separate pet area with artificial grass and we loved it. And then we came here near Tucson airport for 2 nights of stay which was the worst decision ever.
Not really pet friendly around the hotel. It’s more like ANTS HEAVEN. Be very careful during the evening - night when you walk your dog. One of our dogs ended up stepping a huge pile of ants near pet area and got bit by them. I looked and it was disgusting. There were thousands and thousands of ants everywhere around the hotel.
Our room was dirty. We almost felt like we were given a room that someone just checked out. Our room smelled like straight up dog urine that I couldn’t even sleep because of that smell. Toilet & bathtub were super dirty with residues and one of the towel even had a piece of hair hanging.
Is there anyone ever watch near the swimming pool area? My husband and I tried to enjoy some sun out so we went to the outdoor pool. A bunch of teens came and they started jumping into the water when there was a sign saying “no diving”. One of the kiddo started having bloody nose and he stayed in the water the whole time. Washing his nose blood in the pool and blowing the blood out while he was in the pool. It was disgusting.
Racist maid and horrible housekeeping service. We left our room around 10 and came back after 3. When we stayed different hotels, our housekeeping service was usually done around this time. But the housekeeper was in our room when we got back and she seemed so frustrated that we were there. We told her it was okay. Told her that we were dropping the dogs off so she should just continue with her work. We even left tips like we always do. She said it will take about 15 mins but if we wanted room service next time, we should let the front desk know every time we leave the room. We’re an Asian couple and she talked to us like we didn’t understand English. My husband is born and raised American and she talked to us like it’s our first time staying hotel and we don’t know what we were doing. She tried to lecture us in a rude tone of voice. And her facial expression was just terrible. She was extremely bothered and frustrated that we came back to our room. We came back about 30 mins later. Ha. We got new towels and she emptied trash can and she made bed for us. THAT WAS IT. Tissues weren’t refilled, nor the room was vacuumed. Still smell like other dogs pee. And she had guts to take the tip. I wonder what she did for 15 mins in our room. Not cleaning that’s for sure.
We got 2 more La Quinta reservation at 2 different locations. Hope those stays will be much better than this one because this one sucked. Next time when we come back to Tucson, we will make sure not to stay in this...
