Long wait, horrible service, good food. We had to wait an inordinate amount of time for a table. There were many empty tables in the restaurant, but they were slow to fill them. One family of 4 told that they were told that the wait would be 10 minutes but they had been there 35. They were seated promptly when they spoke to the manager. We were told 35 minutes and seated in 45. When we were seated, there were 5 empty tables in the area. The two young ladies (teenagers?) didn’t seem to know what they are doing. Our waiter said he had only been working there a few days and offered that as an excuse for not knowing what the daily specials were. We ordered and within a few minutes our “bottomless salad” bowl came. We had enough for the 4 of us, but for some reason, they were rationing the salad dressing so we had to ask (and wait) for more. Two of us wanted some more salad but we could not get the waiter’s attention. He was absent from the table area about 60% of the time. We finally got more salad, after about 20 minutes of staring at an empty salad plate. The food came and I have to say that I really enjoyed my sea bass. However both of our ladies ordered center cut sirloins and said they were very tough. Both said their “jaws were sore from chewing.” Plates were cleared and we got the bill. $128 included 2 glasses of wine, 4 meals, and some oysters that we realized then had not been delivered. Again, I could not get out waiter’s attention. When he finally appeared to collect payment, I had already calculated what the total should have been, and left a 10% tip. Generous given the poor service. I told him about not getting the oysters and we got excuses rather than an apology- “I know I entered those oysters. The kitchen messed it up.” I told him to take the payment and that we were square. Final thought... If you are going to charge premium prices, the food and service must be excellent. Our food was ok-good and the service was poor Appearance is important, but the manager sported two large hollow metal rings embedded in his earlobes. One of the waitstaff, had sky blue hair combed to one side and I wasn’t sure if they were male or female. This appearance was probably not the look the owners of this restaurant would want and it didn’t speak of a clean efficient restaurant. As we left, nobody said thank you or asked about our meal. Not even a goodbye from the two teenage receptionists at the front. I could understand their behavior if we had complained loudly or made a scene, but we did not. I wouldn’t have embarrassed myself our my guests that way. I’ll bet after reading this, the managers at the restaurant don’t change a thing or attempt to remediate the loss...
Read moreWhen we walked into the restaurant, the hostess booth was empty. After waiting for a few minutes, a member of the wait staff saw us and came over to seat us. She only spoke and made eye contact with my male friend (this plays into what happened at the end of the meal as she was also our waitress). My first thought was that the menu prices were expensive (fish & chips - $21). We ordered Sashimi for an appetizer while we looked at menu. I ordered the fish & chips and my companion ordered the almond crusted Halibut ($29.95). Both dinners included bread and salads. The bread came first. The garlic cloves were very much overcooked. Sashimi arrived and it tasted very good. About half way through the Sashimi, our salads arrived. I told the waitress at that time to PLEASE not bring our main dishes out until we finished the Sashimi and had at least gotten a head start on the salad. Approximately 5 minutes later she brought our main dishes out. 🤔 The Sashimi was good but we had not even finished much less gotten to the salad. I had her return them to the kitchen and placed under a heat lamp. When I picked up my salad dish to scoop a portion onto it, I discovered that when refilling my glass, water got dumped onto my plate and the table. Ugh. Eventually, we got our main dish. My fish was good. Of course the fries were now old and limp. The halibut was good but the side was supposed to be a sweet potato and instead was sweet potato fries (also limp and luke warm). After we declined a dessert, the bill was placed at the end of the table. Since it was my turn to pay, I picked up the holder and placed my card (with MY name) inside the holder it. Waitress returns with the card and receipt and places it next to my boyfriend. She, again, looks him in the eye and says "thank you". That would be nice and/or acceptable if it were his card or his name on the card or if he was alone. However that was not the case. Overall, the fish itself tasted good but I'm certain that this visit was not worth the $75 that we were charged. Lastly, my boyfriend thinks that this review was far too nice for what we experienced. But my thought is that I just want the staff/management to make ANYBODY'S experience better. Come on! All these things add up to a bad dinner experience. I'm certain that we...
Read moreWe visited this location for the first time this weekend. After having a great experience at the Montgomery location, the visit to the Coors location was extremely disappointing. The food was mediocre, nothing compared to the Montgomery location. The shrimp truly seemed like it came out of a frozen box from Walmart - the taste and look of them were astonishingly different from the last time we ate at Pelicans on Montgomery. Not at all worth the price. The service really wasn't great. Our server blatantly didn't want to be at work and acted as though we were a burden. My husband and I ordered a tall blue moon and a tall IPA, but we were brought 2 short IPAs. The manager brought out the blue moon, but again it was a short after requesting a tall. Our second round we were given a short IPA and a tall blue moon...the inconsistency made no sense. We asked multiple times for sweetener for my daughters iced tea and never received it. She ended up ordering something different to drink altogether since we couldn't get them to bring us sugar. My husband and I ordered Cesar salads with our meal. He received a Cesar and I received a ranch salad. Instead of asking for it to be corrected we decided it wasn't worth the headache. When we got our bill, we were charged for 3 tall beers and 1 short, even though we received the opposite. Again, we decided it wasn't worth the headache to argue after the service we'd received all night and just paid the extra. I wouldn't ever go back to the Coors location, but still highly recommend the Montgomery location...
