The staff here is so rude! There was an adult person who had mental delays waiting in line with their mom. I was behind them and the line was close to one of those podium the staff like to stand by and watch the store. The special needs customer was having free samples and kept asking his mom repeatedly if there was a trash can. If you’ve been to this Costco you’d notice they’re everywhere really. He then kept saying “Mom I found it.” and was so happy to throw away his trash. He clapped and kept saying “Yay!”. There were a couple of employees standing at and by the podium. An employee said “Are you serious? There’s a trash can behind them..” The employee was upset because the special needs customer used the little trash can next to the podium instead of the larger trash can that was farther away by an isle. The employees surrounding the area were also conducting themselves in a demeaning manner. One said “What’s wrong with him!” Another said “Ignorance is bliss.” and started laughing. Mind you the customer they were talking about aloud was special needs and probably didn’t notice their belittling, unprofessional, disrespectful, degrading remarks where directed to him. The mother seemed bothered by it though. I really felt sorry for her because she was just there to shop and didn’t go to Costco to have the employees criticize her son. He was just throwing away his trash properly and not tossing it on the ground. I don’t understand why a group of employees would even be bothered by it. He’s not creating more work for them or interrupting there workload. The employees were just standing around doing nothing. I’m going to cancel my membership. The customer service is just lacking at Costco. They have good deals but it’s not worth supporting employees who have such condescending behavior toward...
Read moreI went to Costco in the NW shopping on May 6, 2021, around 10:30 AM. A cashier checked me out for my 13 items at 11:25 AM, and my items were packed by another staff.
When I went to the exit with my shopping cart, there were two female staff checking receipts and merchandise at the time. I went to the line on my left where a middle-aged white woman was checking receipts, as there was no one in her line, but a long line to my right. After I gave her my receipt, she started to count my items one by one, which I have never experienced in my 20+ years with Costco. She said that there were 14 items in my shopping cart, but I only paid for 13 items. According to the receipt, I knew there were only 13 items in my shopping cart. She counted the items about three times and kept saying one item unpaid, but she could not tell me which item I did not pay.
Meanwhile, I asked her why she counted my items one by one? She answered that was the rule, but I saw no one was counted one by one in the other line. This probably took too long, so a male staff finally came over and asked what happened. The lady told him that I had a problem with her counting items. The male staff just looked at my receipt and made a mark on it, and then gave it back to the lady, who gave the receipt back to me and let me go without saying anything.
I am very upset and want to say the following:
I was picked because I am an Asian woman,
The lady had no sense of customer service, and
She doesn't know how to count.
I wish to bring this to the management of Costco attention and hope that this will not happen to me or any other loyal Costco...
Read moreI love Costco for the most part but some things have continuously gotten worse and have brought down my experience significantly.
Lately (last year or two) they are just way too crowded at this location and they desperately need one (in Rio Rancho maybe?) to ease the congestion.
The helpers at the registers can be nice but some are very condescending and rude ....if i take my stuff out they tell me not to....if i dont take it out they say i should have. If I wasn't offered a box and ask for one i get lectured because there is stuff in my cart. They are often older than me but I'm in my forties. Not exactly a whippersnapper. They can talk to me like an adult and not be rude. Just tell me nicely what you want and I'll do it. Again this isn't all of the helpers but enough to start to make me notice a pattern.
The increase and persistence of the kiosk people is frustrating. I pay a membership...I should not be inundated by sales pitches as soon as I walk in. Mostly its the phone people and the costco services like blinds and bathrooms. The people are nice but I often want to be left alone. The others like the candles, jewelry, jerky, etc. are good about not approaching you and waiting for you to show interest.
Lastly ...Its not this location's fault but.... bring...
