This Thai restaurant is a hidden gem, and we're so glad we stumbled upon it. The family behind the restaurant hails from the Saint Louis area, and they've created a cozy, unassuming spot that's perfect for a family dinner or a date night with your wife. The prices are pretty reasonable (though everything feels expensive these days), and the menu offers a great mix of classic dishes and specials.
We've eaten here several times, and the wait staff are always friendly and helpful. Despite the delicious food and great service, I've never seen this place completely full - which is a real shame, because it deserves to be packed every night. It's tucked away in a back corner of the building, so it can be a bit of a challenge to locate. If could recommend anything to this place it would be to have better music; I know, it sounds like I am being picky.
You know, there must be something special about this spot tucked back in the corner, because I remember that there used to be an Italian restaurant here (the name escapes me now) when we first moved to Conifer more than 20 years ago. My bet is that it has an already appointed kitchen and that's irresistibly appealing to any opening restaurant. Anyway, that's got nothing to do with this Thai place, I'm just thinking aloud.
So. If you're looking for a recommendation, I like the yellow curry. My wife likes it far spicier than I do, and she is pleased with her dishes too. Overall, this is a nice place -...
Read moreI live in Conifer and was so excited to have a new Thai restaurant to try. After two negative experiences, I feel that I need to share with others. On both occasions, when walking in the door, it was so smoky, I could barely breathe. (Thank goodness we ordered carry out.) Take One: Drunken Noodles. Flat noodles with sweet weird taste. Although we tried, we could not camouflage with anything. Through mine out after two bites. Take Two: Decided to give it another try. Once again, there was not one single diner and the room was filled with smoke (do they not have good ventilation?) The employee told me it’s always that way when they make Drunken Noodles. Told him about our prior negative experience and he agreed that the Drunken Noodles were too sweet and he didn’t like them either. I decided to try the Chicken Pad Thai this time. Might I say it was worse? The chicken was dry, the noodles were dry, the flavor was sweet and again “weird” for Thai food. I added a full cup of chicken broth to it and the dried noodles soaked it right up. I added siracha even though I ordered a 3 heat rating. Nope…still not edible. There will be no Take 3. For whatever it’s worth, I own a Small Business and when a customer isn’t happy I either offer a refund or another complimentary option. Really disappointed Thai 202 didn’t turn out to be a decent option...
Read moreThis place is great if you want to diet! I had tried this place a year ago and didn't like it. Came back to give it another chance (ordered differently then the first) and still didn't like it. Couldn't even finish my dishes because it was just so sweet. All the dishes had some form of sugar! The crab rangoon had sugar in it, the pot stickers had sugar in the dipping sauce, the pad thai, chicken lettuce wrap, and even the vegan garlic which had more sugar than garlic. This place is not diabetic friendly, my dad's blood sugar went off the roof. NOT DIABETIC FRIENDLY! The server said everyone likes sweet but this was just too much. I was hoping 1 dish didn't have any form of sweet/sugar. The rice was the only thing that wasn't sweet but it was drenched in sweet sauce so I couldn't eat the rice. Luckily, the chicken lettuce wrap had it's own rice bowl. I couldn't even take my dishes home because I knew I wasn't going to eat it later. Awful the first time and awful the second time....
