You cannot be prejudice and violate several food health and safety codes.
I understand it is Christmas and it gets busy. However, Christmas comes once a year, every year, for years, so why not prepare for such an influx. That is not the reason for the negative review.
When I arrived, there were about 20 people waiting or their food orders, and the place looked chaotic. There is a food section for delivery drivers, which was completely empty. The picture attached to this is the table where they put food when the entire order is not completed. One customer had everything in his order ready, on the table, except for a soup that he had to wait another 30 minutes for. Most of the food in the picture was there before I got there, at 620, that was an hour before the picture was taken(as you can see in the timestamp).
No way should there be food left, at room temperature that long. It violates several food health and safety codes, and will definitely be reported, after this post. When cooking, you are supposed to have the pieces of an order come out and ready within a short time period of one another. This was not the case here. There was no care in the world by the staff.
After waiting an hour, I asked could the worker check on my order. His reply was, "it is busy, so whatever time it says on your order it doesn't matter." I explained to him, I am literally asking the exact question that others, (who happen to be white), asked him right before me. His response to them was "Ill check" to which he proceeded to check. Now, before you all say, I'm "throwing" out this "race card", another gentleman received the same response as me by the entire staff. That other gentleman was Chilean. You could hear the sound of defeat in his voice, when he was trying to explain to his wife that no one was trying to help him with his order. Right as he was explaining this to his wife, another customer comes in, and demands that the same worker, who gave me that response, to check on his food. The worker ran back there and checked for him and told him it would come out in five minutes. In five minutes, his food most certainly came out, and I was still waiting. That man happened to be...you guessed it..white. I spoke politely, and asked the same question as everyone else, but was treated worse than someone who was causing a scene and demanding their order. What is the common denominator?
Again, I will definitely reach out to local, state and federal food health and safety...
Read moreI was across the street dropping off a UPS package and thought I would pick up dinner for my wife who is Asian. I do this often at many Asian restaurants in the area. Since she is on a Veggie kick lately I ordered Vegetable lo-main and Hot & Sour Soup. It was about 6pm and they only had a few tables with people. The service was fast and it came out fast, but for Vegetable... Lo-main she had to cook her own veggies since there were little to none in it and I have to agree. I am not one to write a review and after reading these, they may put out good Sushi and others may like it but give me a salad or McDonald's and I am happy, but I normally only get food for her. She said the Hot and Sour was to spicy but I will say that is probably her, but Vegetable Lo-Main should be Lo-main Vegetable since it was 98% noodles. I may not care about food that much and easily pleased with most food, But I do know what it should be and what it should not. I can honestly say I know restaurants and have been in more than most people since I have been a restaurant equipment dealer for 30 years and now a manufactures representative for factories that make food service equipment. I have built many restaurants in this area and sold equipment to restaurants all over the world. I will say the layout is not bad, it seemed clean, prices average but portions from what I can tell are weak. If I had read these reviews before tonight, I would not have known what to say except it seems like most are there for Sushi. I doubt she will go there now and I know I will not go back. I know in this business you have to be consistent. I did say the prices were average but not for .30 cents worth of noodles. Next week I will be in Orlando FL for the NAFEM show. That is the Largest Food Equipment Show there is and people come from all over the world. They do give samples of all kinds of food there demonstrating there equipment and how great the food is being cooked on there equipment, so she always...
Read moreI want to preface by saying that this has been my favorite sushi restaurant for years and that the food is consistently delicious and affordable. That said, I will never be back here ever again. Last night, we parked, went in to eat, and were towed from the lot before our drink order arrived, a whopping six minutes of being on premises in total. We were then put through a three hour ordeal, during which the property manager falsely accused us of walking off property to another restaurant. This manager (who refused to give his name) attempted to implicate his own children in his fraudulent narrative, claimed to have video evidence that he refused to produce, along with a timeline he would not corroborate, and refused to consider that he had my husband confused with another black male. In the end, were given our car back free of charge. Turns out, Henry's Wrecker Service (who I have also reviewed here on yelp), towed the wrong car and rather than admit to wrongdoing, both the towing company staff and the property manager of the restaurant decided to lie until the (false) blame stuck to us. I loved this restaurant, but the food and service are not so good that I will return and once again risk predatory and illegal seizure of my property, as well as an attempt to frame myself or my husband as violators of policy and law. We no longer feel safe patronizing...
