Updated review: 10.12.2023
Most of the issues experienced in the initial dip from ownership switch are addressed and the food is good again. Granted, they still put crispy items in with steaming food which makes crispy food soggy if you don’t get home ASAP and remove the crispy crab rangoon from the food package.
Overall, I gave a few retries since my downgrade of this establishment and they are back bear the top for the area for me.
New review (12.16.2022) Not sure what happened here. Seems that the ownership has changed… and with it changed the recipe, the standards etc. and not for the best. I will retest one more time at some point just to see if these were growing pains. For now, I would say that if you loved this restaurant before you may feel differently now.
The bad: The fried rice had a smell to it and tasted funny. The boiled dumplings with sesame sauce had several issues: the sauce was now very watery and didn’t have much flavor. Bigger problem was that I found small rocks in my dumplings which hurt my teeth when i bit into them. I am glad I didn’t crack any. However, it seems that someone potentially dropped a dumpling on the floor and put it back in.
The good: Not much here, the chicken didn’t taste fresh, but the sauce on the chicken was pretty good. Crab Rangoon. had some potential.
Old review (2015): Good standard americanized Chinese food. Portions are out of control huge. This is the only Chinese place I've been to that has spare ribs as a free side to your dinner. The quality is good. The staff is friendly, but when they get busy things can slow down. Their bar area stays fairly busy with locals during the week. This place will be remodeled soon with the whole plaza...
Read moreI haven’t been to this Chinese restaurant in awhile and after this visit… it will be a long time until I go back if ever. We love Chinese food however…. That atmosphere and employees are terrible. I felt like I was at a run down dive bar. We got our drinks right away but waited 40 minutes at least to even put our order in. Staff was too busy eating their own food with their hands behind the bar in front of everyone. They were trying to figure out how to turn on the game n by the time they got it on hmmmm it was over. The pork fried rice n lobster sauce was good then lost our appetites n nothing was good after we seen the way the bar staff were acting. Absolutely disgusted. I didn’t even think I was in Foxboro anymore!!
I’ve worked n managed restaurants n bars n NEVER seen such employees n behaviors. Drug testing may be helpful so it doesn’t get that atmosphere n reputation. Just very trashy the whole experience n we just got off the train from Boston n were starving n were very disappointed. It’s very sad because that place could be decorated n cleaned up n be a gold mine with the location. The hard cover Menus...
Read moreFriendly staff, nice clean dining area/bar, recently renovated, and good drinks! Typically do takeout but we realized the significant increases in prices since COVID! I know everything has gone up in price w/ inflation, but a Crab Ragoon appetizer, for example, went from 12 pieces for $7.95 to 8 pieces for $10. Does that make sense? So that means they went from $.67 per ragoon to $1.25, or over 85% increase on frozen fake crab ragoons! The combo plates went up by $3 with 1/4 less food in the container, as well. Something just seems off with their revised pricing strategy. You wouldn't feel as bad if they went up by a couple dollars but at least kept quantity the same. A few of our friends and us have now made this an occasional spot instead of...
