I was very excited to finally find a small, locally owned coffee shop in the area. The atmosphere is very trendy and the decor is very contemporary. The coffee shop it’s self is very small and has limited seating. I actually found it hard to find the door to get to the coffee shop. When we walked in we weren’t greeted when we came to the register, which I really don’t find surprising nowadays. Members of my family have some allergies and that we asked the ingredients of the baked goods and the person we talk to you have no idea so he seems to go ask a supervisor. Not sure if it was the owner or manager, but that person didn’t even know what the ingredients of the bacon they were selling were. All they could do was say we get them from a bakery in Oak Park so we have no idea. For a business I find that to be a very poor answer. I was shocked to find that the largest size latte that they offer was very small (looked about 12oz.) and it was a bit over priced for the size. I asked for light flavor and the latte and it was extremely sweet. It also just seems like a cup of coffee with the milk added to it as creamer. There was zero foam on the top. Traditional lattes have steamed milk that are topped with foam. I gave this place three stars in hopes that my next visit they can redeem themselves by knowing the ingredients of their baked goods and working on their espresso...
Read moreThe drinks at this shop are well-crafted and inventive, and the people there are friendly - but I have been to coffee shops all over North America and Europe, including higher cost places like Sweden and Norway, and I personally have never paid $12.25 for a grande-sized cold brew (including an extra $1.50 for no ice). My total bill today was $28 for 1 cold brew and 2 ice lattes. Most expensive coffee shop I can remember; which is saying something, considering I travel a lot and I’m in different cities every day for 3 or so months of the year. The drinks are undeniably good, but we aren’t talking rare origin, masterfully roasted, hand-crafted to order works of art here - it’s cold brew with cold foam and flavoring. The prices are just shocking and prohibitive, and it deters me from going more than once...
