Great addition to the area. I've had three different experiences with the Loft and while there are some growing pains, especially as related to service, overall we would definitely recommend and will be going back. The space is great with a nice vibe. The food and drinks have been wonderful as well. Food faves so far: chicken sandwich, bacon jam burger, and pizzas. More details below:
1st outing - Reservations for bowling and dinner right around when first opened. The person that made the reservation was frustrated with the lack of communication and understanding as to how bowling versus dinner and the number of bowlers, but overall we had a great time. We bowled for one hour with a group of 12 and then moved to a table to for dinner. The food was great! Service was a bit slow, but they explained they were down a server or two.
2nd outing - dinner and football game. Service was great at the start, ordered right away and our food came quick, but then it was hard to find anyway to get water refills or check. Food has consistently been good. We (including 9 and 11 year old) enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard. Unfortunately, the sound was not working for the big TV and the two different TVs were out of sync so we decided to head home instead of hangout longer to watch the football game.
3rd experience - Super Bowl catering. This was great! The price was right. Ordering and pick-up was simple and the food was packaged so that it was easily transportable. The food was great. We will definitely be doing that again. We did have a hard to reaching out by phone, but realized that we were able to find a 708 number and an 815 number. The 815 number is the one that...
Read moreI asked my wife, “Do you want to bowl?” and she said, “Yes.”
Thirty minutes later she looks at me and says, “I thought the food was ready?” Turns out she thought I said, “Do you want a bowl?” — as in, a bowl of food since I was cooking.
After a good laugh, she said she was still down to go but needed a little time to get ready. No problem — I hopped on The Loft’s website and easily modified our reservation to include an hour of bowling followed by a lounge table. The plan: bowl first, then unwind with a few drinks.
The bowling lanes were great — clean, modern, and fun. Afterward, we headed over to the lounge, ordered a few drinks, truffle fries, and their funnel cake dessert (basically funnel cake fries with Nutella on the side). The food was solid, drinks were well made, and the overall vibe was relaxed…
Until the music hit.
Out of nowhere, the volume was cranked up so loud you couldn’t even hear the person next to you. The waitstaff had to lean in just to take orders, and we were practically shouting to talk.
It’s a great venue for a date night, friends, or family — stylish, fun, and with good food — but I really wish more places realized that not everyone wants a concert-level sound system during dinner. Sometimes, people just...
Read moreWhen we arrived it was fairly slow with plenty of open tables. It took quite a while after being seated before our server showed up to take the order. We asked if it was possible to order our pizza without one of the toppings and she said only if we ordered the whole pizza instead of slices, so we ordered the whole pizza. While we waited for the pizza, we never saw the server, despite needing refills on our drinks. Once the pizza came out, it had the topping we wanted left off. We waited another 10 minutes for the server to come back so we could explain the issue. While we waited for the new pizza to come out, the server walked past us several times while we needed refills, looking down or away as she passed by, making it difficult to get her attention. It felt like the waitress was deliberately ignoring us and we did not feel at all attended to. There was not really any apology for our pizza being incorrect and having an additional wait for a new one. It was honestly an awful (and very long) experience. We regret stopping here for lunch when there were so many other great...
