I've visited Chatpata Delhi multiple times, and after trying my luck at other local restaurants like Halal Meat & Grill and Bangalore Express, I feel compelled to share my honest opinion about this exceptional place. While the other restaurants weren't too bad, Chatpata Delhi stands out for its food, ambiance, cleanliness, staff, vegetarian and vegan options, and most importantly, the variety of delicious dishes available on the menu.
Overall Place: Chatpata Delhi is a gem in the heart of Franklin Park. This restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience with its authentic Indian dishes and vibrant atmosphere.
The Food Varieties: The menu boasts a wide variety of traditional Indian favorites, from rich curries and flavorful biryanis to delicious tandoori dishes and mouth-watering naan bread. The specialties of the restaurant include:
Starters: The starters menu is extensive, featuring Samosa, Chat, Kachori, Shev Puri, Raj Kachori, and much more. While we didn't try everything, we did sample the Aloo Tokri, which my son loved. The options however for a vegan and meat lover is awesome. By the way, I also took home Mirchi Pakoda and Mirchi Cheese Toast as spicy starters for a boys' night out – they were absolutely delicious!
Appetizers: Next, we explored the typical Mumbai Menu, which brought back fond memories of home. The Chicken Kheema Pav and Misal Pav are delicious offerings on this menu. One of the families with us tried the Chole Bhature, and after taking a few bites, I regretted not ordering it myself. On my next visit, I made sure to order it, and it was a fantastic choice, reminiscent of the Madhuban Restaurant in Pune.
From the Sizzling Menu: The Tandoori Chicken is a standout dish. We ordered it multiple times as soon as we sat down – not with our heads, of course, but the soft and juicy chicken is cooked so well that you'll want to keep ordering more!
The Mains: My favorite main dish is the Butter Chicken with naan. I love the slightly sweet curry after enjoying juicy tandoori chicken. However, my friends ordered the Chicken Curry and Kadai Chicken, which were also excellent choices. I might opt for one of these next time instead of the Butter Chicken.
About the Ambiance: The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a cozy dinner with family or friends. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that every visit is a pleasant one. It's clear that customers love the food and service. Whether you're a fan of spicy food or looking to try something new, Chatpata Delhi is definitely worth a visit. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the overall experience is memorable.
Event Catering: I once ordered lunch for my son's birthday event from this place and received a very competitive rate with a discounted price for the best food served. I highly recommend Chatpata Delhi for party events as well!

Read moreMy recent visit to Chatpati Delhi was nothing short of exceptional. We arrived early, just before the evening rush, which turned out to be perfect timing. The service was outstanding – our food arrived quickly and the staff was attentive throughout our meal. The Food Experience Every single dish we ordered was executed to perfection. The Golgappa (12 pieces) were fresh and bursting with flavor, providing that perfect tangy kick that makes this street food classic so irresistible. The Kurkuri Tokri was delightfully crispy and well-seasoned, living up to its name. The bread selection was impressive – both the Butter Naan and Chur Chur Naan were soft, buttery, and perfectly complemented our main dishes. The Peeli Daal (yellow dal) was comfort food at its finest, with just the right consistency and aromatic spices that reminded me of home-cooked meals. The Paneer Bhatti Masala was the star of our table – rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The paneer was tender and the masala had that perfect balance of spices that kept us coming back for more. The Bedmi Aloo Puri was another highlight, with the puris being perfectly crispy and the aloo preparation being flavorful and satisfying. We ended our meal with the Dry Sweet which provided a lovely conclusion to our dining experience. Service & Atmosphere The service truly stood out during our visit. The staff was efficient, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Getting our food delivered quickly, especially with such attention to quality, speaks volumes about their kitchen management. Room for Improvement My only minor complaint would be the digital menu system. While I understand the convenience and hygiene benefits, I’m still not a big fan of scanning menus on my phone. It would be wonderful if they could offer physical menus as an alternative option for diners who prefer the traditional approach. Final Thoughts Despite the minor menu preference, this was an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The quality of food, combined with excellent service, makes Chatpati Delhi a place I’ll definitely be returning to again and again. If you’re craving authentic, well-prepared Indian cuisine with prompt service, this is your spot. Highly recommended for: Families, couples, anyone craving quality Indian street food and traditional dishes Best time to visit: Early evening before the rush for...

He and his brothers displayed a genuine passion for their restaurant, which was truly admirable. The dishes we ordered were nothing short of exceptional. It was evident that everything was made from scratch, highlighting the commitment to quality. For example, the puris in the pani puri were freshly made in the restaurant, and the paneer was homemade as well. The paneer was wonderfully soft and flavorful. The butter naans, made without yeast or eggs, were large and incredibly smooth. The chole in the chole bhature were perfectly cooked, and the flavors were outstanding. The pani puri tasted exactly like the authentic Indian street food I had tried before. Additionally, the Bada milk, Aam pani, and mango lassi were excellent in taste. The Paneer sizzler and the grilled vegetables served alongside were cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were surprisingly low for the high-quality food that was served.
