I recently had an unfortunate experience with La Bon Bake Shoppes in Somerset, and it pains me to write a less-than-glowing review after seeing all these great reviews.

I had pre-ordered a cake online for pickup at the Somerset location well in advance. Unfortunately, upon arriving at the specified time for pickup, I was informed that there was an error in the order, and my cake was actually waiting for me at the Edison location, a 20-minute drive away. This was incredibly frustrating as I was on my way to a party and couldn't afford the time to travel in the opposite direction.

With no other option, I had to settle for one of the pre-made cakes available at the Somerset location. The associate who assisted me seemed stressed and mentioned that such errors had occurred in the past. This raised concerns for me - if this has happened before, why hasn't it been addressed and corrected?

To their credit, the associate did offer me a discount on the pre-made cake, which was a small consolation. Their expertise in creating delicious and visually stunning cakes keeps me coming back, and this location is the most convenient for me but I'm sure all of the locations are consistently great.

Everytime I go..they do not have anything...I just left wanted an apple turnover a cannoli and GUAVA puffs as it is advertised as pastry of the month. They had non..she said what is there..which was 3 items. U might as well close the doors at that point. And they had cannoli shells but no cream for Inside..am I to purchase an empty shell . Seems like I could buy the racks with nothing on them..unreal..This is a Bakery.. WOW.

UPDATE: I changed rating from 1 to 4 stars, I am fair. In response to the owners reply, I do accept and consider what was said and I did go on Mother's day I am sure. So in trying again I went a few days ago, and sent my wife in. She Loved it and they did have everything, the staff is very nice. Guava puffs were Great at $4.00, but very big, so big it is perfect for 2 people. I love Guava Puffs, and with the cheese, it was delicious. I did have Cannoli and they were great with chocolate Chips in them. They are a little pricey for size, but quality was great, so not too bad either way. My first few visits were just bad timing , but if it is the way I saw the other day. I was outside , looking in as my Wife went in. Then I say it is a pretty darn good bakery with Great choices and many to choose from. I will be going again, and I would definitely say if you are in the area , give it a shot. You can't get...
