Poke Star — Restaurant in Franklin Township

I’ve ordered the poke bowl from here 5 times through Door Dash, as it’s the only poke place around me. So far, quality has been a little inconsistent - I’ve had a bowl with so little fish it was shocking, and a bowl with missing sauces. But the 3 other times it was well made and delicious! I definitely recommend the Poke sauce. Before moving to my current area, I lived in New Brunswick where I ate at Okie Pokie Cafe and Poke Nagomi on a weekly basis. I would rate Poke Star last in terms of toppings choices and cost value. Poke Star charges extra for poke toppings that were standard at Okie Pokie and isn’t as generous with portions as Poke Nagomi. But at the end of the day, I love poke and I’ll keep ordering from Poke Star as long as I can continue getting a decent bowl at least 3...

Poke Bowl in Hillsborough is much better. The poke bowl topping options are limited at Poké star. When you order online, you can only choose one or two, and at Poké bowl you can get as much as you want of any of the toppings. Poke star gave me what I guess is supposed to be sushi rice but it just looks like regular white rice to me. It’s not sticky. Also, the mixed greens consisted of lettuce and huge pieces of spinach with thick, long stems that they should have cut off before serving. Flavor of the tuna was ok. Only saw literally 2 sesame seeds, but the sauce was very good and the place was clean and people were nice. $20 for one protein plus avocado here and it’s $17 for the same...

I rarely ever leave reviews, but this place has quickly become my favorite takeout place. Everything I’ve had from this place has been awesome. Made my own burrito. Awesome (the sweet egg was a nice touch). Fantastic Roll (sweet potato in sushi?!). Unique & Awesome. Never had Takoyaki (basically Fried Octopus balls) before this place, but also awesome. Their bubbletea (one of my favorite guilty pleasures) is made well here too. And the portion sizes have been near perfect.
