Today, about an hour ago was the first time my boyfriend and I tried bubble tea here. The tea itself was not bad at all. That was unfortunately the only decent part of Ming’s. We drove 40 minutes to try it since some of my friends that live in Kent have raved about it before. When we first walked in, all the tables and chairs are moved over to the right. There was a line of people to the door that seemed to be waiting to order. No one said hello when we walked in. There were two or three employees working on orders behind the counter. There was one girl who kept going to the register and back to making drinks. Now the way the tape was all laid out on the ground was a little confusing for it being the first time inside there and a line of people to the door. We waited for maybe ten minutes before asking a lady in front of us where to order. She said she didn’t know and that she ordered online. So then we walked over to the counter where I just said oh I’m sorry we’ve not been here before and were a bit confused by the line. Then still no greeting, she just stared at me. So... I asked what she would recommend as the first drink. She rattled off what seemed to be memorized and sped through it like I was an idiot for asking. I was so surprised at her attitude for being the face of this business. Two first time customers a bit confused that walk in and get talked down to. We waited another 15 minutes before getting our drinks. We were number 100. She didn’t ask us for a name as I heard most other people got their names called. Whether that was from online ordering or not, this was just a bad experience from the moment we...
Read moreI drove over an hour to try it because I'm going to college near there soon and I wanted to see if I would like it because I adore Bubble Tea. I have drank a LOT of this considering I come from an Asian background and granted this could have just been an error with the employees working it's still gross. I ordered Taro with Strawberry popping boba (don't judge me I can't get enough of sweet) and the cashier kept trying to talk me out of my order saying things like "people usually don't order Taro with popping boba" I'm well aware but I enjoy it. "Are you sure?" Yes I'm pretty sure what my favorite order is. The wait wasn't bad, and the notes on the wall are cute but I got my tea and Oh My God Good Taro is like a deeper purple color, and what I got was almost completely white. I decided that hey, maybe they added extra milk to my order or something who knows. Note: two of my other friends ordered Taro aswell (theirs with tapioca boba and mango) and I took one sip and that's where it ended. My one friend ended up throwing up because the Taro LITERALLY tasted like fabreze. Taro is supposed to be one of the sweetest mixes, and I almost threw up. Either they didn't give me the correct order, or their employees don't know how to make Taro tea (which is one of the most popular flavors). This was ALL of our Taro, not just ours. We ended up going to the subway next door and ordering coke and food to get the...
Read moreI have gone to Mings a couple of times now, all have been pretty good experiences, but yesterday— I walked out bawling my eyes out because of how a worker treated me.
As I walked in, there was a man outside sitting at the picnic table clearly high on a bad drug— he was itching himself, looking and talking to nothing, pacing around , etc. He was right outside by the window so all the costumers saw. When I walked to the door to go inside, he told me I looked good in my dress (i was wearing a shirt and pants) , anyways I was concerned. I got my tea and sat down with my friends— we could help but keep looking at him and we were concerned for him and the costumers, there was young women in there, I genuinely just wanted everyone to be safe.
A worker came up to our table, she wasn’t a manager— she proceeded to tell me that i shouldn’t have a problem with it because he has right to be there and that I was scaring all the costumers. She was saying I was the problem in all of it. When she turned around I asked my friends if I was the problem in any of this— she heard and immediately turned around and snapped “yes you are the problem and you can go ahead and leave if you are gonna create problems and scare customers.”
I left right then and there and started to bawl my eyes out because I felt belittled and embarrassed. I don’t know if...
