We were traveling home from FL and needed somewhere to eat. When traveling I don't like to eat at chains I can find at home. This place popped up on Google maps, and wasn't very far off the interstate, so we decided to try it. I thought it was good! My husband said he wouldn't pull off the interstate to eat here again, which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. I'm not sure that his judgment wasn't clouded by the fact that he'd been in the truck driving for several hours, though, so I would try to talk him into eating here again. He ordered the meat lovers pizza. It was sooo good, and I am kind of picky when it comes to pizza! The crust was thin, perfectly crispy, yet perfectly chewy. We also got the pepperoni bread. From the description I was expecting actual bread (or bread dough) with pepperoni and cheese rolled up like a cinnamon roll. It is actually a pizza dough crust, stuffed with pepperonis and cheese served with a tomato cream sauce on the side. It was ok, I was a little disappointed because it didn't come out like I pictured. I got the Catherine's pasta. It was steaming hot, and the pizza was HUGE, so I ended up eating a piece of pizza and only sampling my pasta. It was good, even my husband said so and he isn't a big pasta fan. The place was almost full when we went in. Our server was quick and very nice. Towards the end she slacked off a bit on drinks, BUT I do drink A LOT and it was like 8 p.m. so I'm sure she was getting tired. It did seem like getting the food was a bit slower than some places, but I think people are so accustomed to the speed that chains offer, we have substituted that for quality food. All in all I think this was a good dinner choice and I would...
Read moreThis was our first experience at Gina’s and it was notably impressive. Eager to sample a variety of dishes, we ordered the Italian beef with fries, a 10-piece medium buffalo wings, and a large cheese and sausage pizza. Our waitress exhibited remarkable attentiveness and kindness, patiently accommodating us during our order.
The restaurant’s clean and comfortable ambiance added to our positive experience. While there was a bit of a wait for our food, it arrived simultaneously, presented beautifully. As a Chicago native, the giardiniera on the side met my expectations perfectly. The Italian beef, dipped and wonderfully textured, could have benefited from more robust seasoning. However, the fries hit the mark with ideal seasoning and perfect cooking. The buffalo wings stood out as some of the best I’ve experienced since moving to Tennessee – juicy, with the right amount of crunch in the skin, elevating the overall flavor. They’ve piqued my curiosity to try other sauces.
The pizza, a standout with its thin crust, boasted a rich flavor profile enhanced by the stone-fired oven, a delightful deviation from traditional baking methods. The quality of the sausage, uniquely shaved rather than the usual patties or crumbles, added a superior taste to the pizza.
In summary, Gina’s Stonefire Italian and Pizzeria is a fantastic discovery and has earned its place as one of our regular spots. It strikes the perfect balance with excellent service, a pristine environment, and exceptional food. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone seeking a sublime Italian and pizza...
