I was really craving Big Macs and I knew there was a McDonalds right up the road from my hotel. I knew I was already taking a chance hoping they would honor the "Buy one, get one for a dollar" that was online but the cravings were enough that I'd pay straight up price for two if I had to. I arrived at McDs only to discover that the dining room was closed. Now I know you can walk thru most drive thrus without any problem but it was pretty crowded and even I feel a little odd doing that. So, I googled the McDonalds and called them.
"Hi. I'm wondering if there is anyway to order some food without going through the drive thru? I'm starting at a motel and I don't have a car.'
"You can do door dash."
"And have it delivered to my room?"
"Right."
"Well, I'm already here at the store. I can actually see you talking to me on the phone through the door."
I wave.
"Oh. Well you can order online then."
"And where would I get it?"
"I'd bring it out to you."
"In the parking lot?"
"Yeah."
"So I have to use the app?
"Yeah."
"OK. Thanks."

So I'm supposed to stand twenty feet away from a guy who could just take my order and I'm supposed to download the app, enter all my info, put my credit card in the app, order and stand in the parking lot all while I'm looking at people who could make this so much easier.
Nope. I don't want Big Macs that badly.
I could understand if the dining room was never open but that's not the case. I can't help but see a simple thing being crippled by technology. And someone may say "Well there are corporate rules and policies." OK. Then it's a simple thing being crippled by corporate rules and policies.
Either way, I ended up going somewhere else.
Now, to be honest, I did go back the next day during lunch and get my Big Macs and they were particularly good and that resulted in my 3 star rating. 1star ordering nonsense the nights before and 5 star Big Macs the next day averages...
Read moreJust waited almost 20 minutes for my sandwich to be made wrong 2 times!! I just got home with my kids its 1130 At night. And here i sit, with a sandwich i paid to have made a certain way, asked for it to be cooked fresh 2 times, once at the speaker where the woman on the headset talked over my request to tell me all the food is cooked fresh at this time, I informed her the past several times I requested this classic chicken dropped fresh, as well as the fries, and cheese added to the sandwich, it was given to me wrong... I dont normally do this but being that I stopped at the 2nd window to check my food to find it all, yet again "Cold and Soggy" opposite of what the woman on the speaker promised. I informed the manager on night shift of the mistake and she became aggravated (not rude) she informed me there would be a 10 minute wait (on top of the 8 minutes I already spent in drive thru) I said that would be fine i just wanted what i ordered. I pulled up, 10 minutes later she brought my food and the condiments i requested she smiled and waved me on my way... I just got home unwrapped my sandwich and there is no cheese!!! And probably a nickle size dollop of the classic chicken sauce. All I wanted was a HOT crunchy chicken sandwich WITH cheese. ... This is their idea of "All product is cooked fresh and accurate" no cheese... One pickle... I wouldnt even say there is...
Read moreIf there was a place for zero stars that is where I am this morning with this McDonald’s on the Georgia Road in Franklin, North Carolina. The customer service was plum terrible they forgot a breakfast sandwich that was for my granddaughter when we got the breakfast sandwich after I drove back around the building when I went through the drive-through The lady at the drive-through you had a attitude at both windows not just one of the windows then they didn’t even know what I needed when I said I need my other sandwich that is a bacon and egg bagel. They get the sandwich for me. I will upload pictures. It was burnt one piece of bacon and a crumb of Bacon And that was after I took it to my granddaughter and she started to eat it and I said, let me see that so I had to go back then the lady gets an attitude again when I asked for a manager because apparently it was the manager in the drive-through that was so hateful to begin with Was only going to give me back money for the bagel after I drove back around the building and drove to my granddaughters house to give her her sandwich.
