First time eating here; nice little chain that serves pizza, sandwiches, soup and salads. Full table service isn't offered here but they do bring your food to the table and pick up the dishes afterwards. The counter girl was very sweet and friendly, and the food arrived in a timely manner even though it was at the beginning of lunch rush and they were already busy.
We ordered a supreme pizza which had pepperoni, sausage, kalamata olives, green peppers, onions and banana peppers (and tomatoes, I believe). The crust was a thinner style without being too hard/crispy, which is my favorite kind of crust. Honestly, I've had pizza at well-known pizza places that everyone raves about that wasn't any better than this...(meaning it was really good!) and at a reasonable price. They only have one size, which is a 10 inch, but we split one and that with a side of pasta salad was plenty to fill us up.
The pasta salad featured corkscrew pasta with black olives, bell peppers, onions, I think and Italian dressing. There might've been other ingredients, but that's all I can remember; it was fresh without being soggy and the seasoning was just right.
Total was $15 and change as I recall, which was very reasonable in today's economy where prices are climbing everywhere. Would definitely...
Read moreThe salads have good flavor, large portions, and good variety (but many times have rotten soggy lettuce). The strawberry cake is delish, and probably the best thing I've eaten there. Love the pickles and breadsticks (although the last two times I've been the pickles tasted like cleaner/soapy).
A little overpriced, in my opinion, and TWICE I've had bones in the chicken breast in my salads - the manager just says "well, our chicken comes already sliced so there's not much we can do about that." No apology. No offer for a new salad. No comping anything. Definitely a disappointment.
After the experience with the chicken, I decided to try the Black and Bleu steak salad... sadly my steak was full of gristle and almost impossible to chew. Considering the variety of restaurants in the vicinity, we probably won't be coming back.
Every time I've gotten soup it has been lukewarm and bland - definitely doesn't seem fresh.
Also, it is not conducive to families with children who have...
Read moreI have visited the Newks in Murfreesboro for years. Went to this Franklin location today....it will be my last visit to this location in Franklin. I was very appalled with regards to how the server(and what I believe to be a manager) cleaned off the tables in between guests. We are experiencing the WORST FLU SEASON EVER. Even if we weren't, the manner in which they cleaned off the tables was disgusting and UNSANITARY. I watched several servers, as well as what we believed to be a manager wipe down several tables with the same DIRTY NASTY CLOTH! No cleaner or disinfectant was used at all. Just the same cloth for every table. I even saw a manager WIPE THE SEAT OF A CHAIR with the cloth. Food was good, but we will never eat there again. Hope the owners read this and make some changes in regards to educating the staff on the importance of sanitizing the tables. I am sure the health inspector would not have given Newks Franklin a good score based on...
