I’d like to start by saying the following review has absolutely nothing to do with staff or atmosphere. Place is a nice vibe and the staff was super friendly.
Tried Soulshine for the first time this evening and both my wife and I agree it will unfortunately be a one and done. We’ve been searching for pizza since we moved to Spring Hill from Nashville and our search will continue. At first, I was a hair taken back with some of the prices, namely the $10.00 meatball appetizer, but since we were anxious to try somewhere new we thought, hey what the heck.
After we finished up eating, I started reading reviews since we were both so underwhelmed with our pizza and appetizer ($15 medium pizza is really the size of a small at most restaurants and the meatballs were two small meatballs hidden in a large bowl of sauce) and one other reviewer was concerned with the prices as well. After that review, the owner of the restaurant defended their pricing model due to rising food costs and their need to stay competitive.
Comea on guys. After one bite of the meatballs, anyone with half a brain would realize their ingredients are nowhere near what they should be to justify cost. Meatballs were frozen and the sauce tasted like it was from a Lunchables packet.
Two thumbs...
Read moreSituated in a booming and newly constructed Berry Farms, Soulshine pizza provides a unique selection and experience for pizza enthusiasts. Although there’s an appealing interior design, the pizza falls flat. The bread and crust of the pizza is seemingly nonexistent, as well as their sauce. With both the Kitchen Sink (supreme pizza) and feta cheese pizza, my party of five found that they lacked sauce and we were only eating their toppings and cheese. If the review was based on service alone, I’d give it a four. Our musician inspiring waiter was very outgoing, however, our glasses were left empty after our initial refills for the remainder of the visit. In addition, we had a pizza left to be boxed up, and as our waiter left to grab the box, another young lady cleaning off the tables came and grabbed our pizza and dumped it in the trash without asking or saying anything at all. We assumed she was putting it in the box for us but dumped it in the trash. Lack of communication from the waiters, and staff. Food was okay, just pizza and nothing special. Their sweet tea was...
Read moreWe tried this location after having visited the midtown location years ago.
This is a much smaller place and definitely more family oriented.
Several large groups with lots of kids were there that evening, so wait time for a table was bit longer than I expected for a Thursday night.
After we were seated, food and drink order was taken promptly. Nice beer selection, not much for wine lovers.
Pizza was served nice and hot, but arrived before salads. Had to ask twice for salads, and received a discount for mistake. They should've been free, since I had to ask twice.
It seemed like servers provided more attention to larger groups than to regular sized patrons. Bigger tips???
It was a decent experience, with good pizza and nice beer selection. I expected better service from SoulShine, as I had never been disappointed at Midtown restaurant.
We will come back and hopefully see an improvement in...
