Let's just start by saying if you are looking for a tasty Japanese food experince you will regret it! Because UMI is the wrong place! We had different dishes and there was a lot to desired besides the $2.50 uncharged for the terrible fried rice. I ordered a salmon bowl. The presentation was acceptable on a cast iron skillet, no a lot of vegetables on it but it tasted ok. When it comes to salmon, the fish I was served was not salmon by long shot. I was served tilapia. When I questioned the waitress, she said let me ask. Then an Asian lady came to the table and quite insistent that the fish I was eating was salmon. I told her that know how salmon taste. She rolled her eyes and she basically had an attitude and was argumentative that the fish I was eating was salmon. I said, I'm just letting you know this fish is not salmon. There not way in hell the fish was salmon. Then she walked away with the waitress saying we do not have talapia here. But, I'm seen the fish on skillet being a white fish! My husband had the beef teriyaki, and didn't care for it either. The beef was rubbery and tasted terrible. My son had the teriyaki chicken, this was a horrible dish as well. The chicken was all dark meat and tasted terrible. Besides that the food seemed to be previously cooked and then reheated in an air frier. You could also hear the air frier going off in the back as other patrons were coming in to dine and ordering their food. So, I'll not reccomend this food to anyone. No one should be subjected to bad food! I did not appreciated the deceitfulness about the fish I was served. As I said before I know how salmon taste like. The waitress was nice and attentive, but the person that came to out table was not. We still paid for the terrible food we were served. Eventhough, the restaurant might have nice reviews for sushi, and that coukd be true, but their foods in the menu is terrible. We will NEVER return to this place. UMI is the worse Japanese food I have ever experienced with my family. This was a birthday celebration that...
Read moreHad a great dinner this evening with our family friends that recommend this restaurant. We were able to walk in and get a table. We were a party of six. We started with edamame and two sushi rolls of Jane and spicy tuna. Wished the spicy tuna was a little more spicy. Up next were chicken teriyaki bento box, veg and shrimp tempura dinner and kids chicken tempura. All the food was very good just wished better vegetables options like broccoli instead of two green beans. Overall very good and excited to share the positive review.

Every place has a bad day so I thought is was time to give Umi a new try 3rd try Ok. Here we go No seating permitted at the nice sushi bar they have. .. I like to look at my sushi to see what looks good fresh so this was scary
The server worked very hard very very hard and kept things moving at prime dinner time
Limited wine selection and a 10....yes TEN Dollar corking fee So how was my sushi? I could not see what the fish looked like as if I sat the bar ... so I stuck with salmon and tuna it was good fresh and cold So as because of the service and good sushi upgrading this to a 4 It still is the only Japanese place in the area
