We have gone for dinner six times since it opened, really wanting this place to be great. We have experienced moments of promise. But my wife has ordered, and recommended to our guests the shrimp and grits four times. The first time it was spectacular. The second time, the grits were old, dry and inedible. She politely told the waiter that the dish is so delicious, but to look at the grits. He seemed to acknowledge and then walk away, saying and doing nothing. We thought it odd, but moved on. Tonight, she and her dad ordered the dish. When delivered to the table, hers was wildly over-spiced and was even a darker color (see pic). She told the waitress, who went to the kitchen to ask about it and came back saying the two dishes were made in the same pan. We were stunned, because they clearly looked and tasted very different. The waitress offered to make her something else. She said she would really just like her choice done right… And the waitress left. I went to the front to ask if the chef would visit and tell us these two dishes were the same and were told he wasn’t in (on Friday at 6 pm). We were not difficult and tried to encourage them to simply discuss and make it right. But the rest of the night, the initially friendly waitress just came by to fill waters and mainly gave us the silent treatment. Later, the manager came by to offer us dessert. It was surprising in that he was the person at the host stand when I asked to speak with the chef and never offered that he was the manager. For what it’s worth, my mother-in-law said her salmon was among the best she’s ever had. This place has potential. But the food is wildly inconsistent and the staff doesn’t seem to know how to handle making it right...
Read moreLudlow & Prime Steakhouse is not just a dinner destination; it is a masterclass in modern, high-end hospitality. From the moment we stepped inside, the urban-chic atmosphere—rich with warm lighting, polished wood, and a sophisticated buzz—promised a special night, and the experience delivered on every single promise. This is easily one of the premier dining spots in the Nashville area. While the food was extraordinary, the true highlight of our night was the impeccable service provided by our server, Eve. Eve is the epitome of professional excellence. She was perfectly attentive without ever hovering, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. Her recommendations for the wine pairing were spot-on, and she navigated the menu with an impressive knowledge that made ordering effortless and exciting. She was genuinely warm, ensuring our pace was perfect and that every moment of our celebratory dinner felt special and cared for. Read moreDon’t recommend. Unfortunately this was some of the worst restaurant food we’ve had, especially for the price. I would not normally leave a review but this was just such a disappointment. We went for our anniversary dinner, but ended up wanting to just cook at home instead because the food was so bad. I will say our waitress was very nice, so none of this was her fault, the food came out fast, and it is a nice atmosphere. But because of the quality of food, it was overall not an enjoyable experience for what we expected to be a higher quality dinner.
When we first got the menus, we were told that they were all out of Ribeye steak, pork chop, and lobster.. 3 of the main dishes which was surprising to hear. We then ordered a burger and the crispy chicken over spaghetti. They brought out the wrong burger from what we ordered, and it was overcooked, with sloppy large cut toppings. And the chicken spaghetti dish was overall just not good and hard to finish, with strong blue cheese throughout. I mentioned this feedback to our waitress but wasn’t given any solution or offer to make it right. We then got carrot cake for our dessert and it was very average, we took a few bites but couldn’t finish it either. The only good food item we got was the monkey bread.
Then before we left I was going to go change my infant in the bathroom but there was no changing table anywhere so I had to change him in the car instead, so that was also frustrating; I would have thought that would be against inspection codes. A huge disappointment for our anniversary dinner, especially from a place that had such nice...
