Date of Visit: July 7, 2024 Time: 11:30 AM Location: Big Boy Restaurant
Ambiance: Walking into Big Boy Restaurant, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant had a classic, family-friendly feel with comfortable seating and pleasant lighting. The buffet area was well-organized and clean.
Food: The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. The fruit bar was fresh and well-stocked with a variety of seasonal fruits. I particularly enjoyed the freshly sliced melons and berries.
The hot food section included an impressive array of breakfast staples, with a range of fresh ingredients.
Service: The service at Big Boy Restaurant was exceptional. Our server was attentive, refilling drinks promptly and clearing plates efficiently. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the staff managed to keep the buffet well-stocked and clean.
Management: During our visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with the restaurant manager, Emandalae. He was genuinely interested in our dining experience and asked for feedback on the food and service. Emandalae's professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction were evident, and it was clear that he took great pride in maintaining high standards at the restaurant. His friendly demeanor and willingness to engage with customers added a personal touch to our visit.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst and last time visiting this Utica road location. The first thing I noticed when walking in was how loud it is in there. Not just from the gaggle of screaming children, but also from the complete lack of acoustical insulation. If they had hot wings, it would have been the same as Buffalo Wild Wings. There was a note on the door apologizing for not having the Sunday breakfast buffet, which didn't bother me too much, but it lends to the service level. We were rushed by the waiter to order. We thought at first that it was due to a large group of kids not having ordered, and he knew that it would take some time. I ordered French toast with sides of hash browns and bacon. My wife asked about getting only a veggie omelet, which she was told would not be an issue. In the meantime, food was being taken, at a leisurely pace, to the pack of screaming kids. They had already placed their orders. We saw no reason to rush into ordering as we were. The food came. My wife's singular, smallish, veggie omelet on a plate. My 4 pieces of french toast (2 slices of bread cut diagonally) on another plate. The "hash browns" were yet another plate containing undercooked, barely browned on only one side, potato cubes (note, these are not hash browns). The bacon was also served on yet another plate. The French toast appeared to have been cooked on only one side. The other side had little to no color. This means that the minuscule "coating" of egg wash that was applied to the bread was either barely or not cooked on one side. Raw eggs, yummy. My wife's omelet also appeared to be undercooked and runny. We reviewed the bill and found $32 for this "meal". She looked further and saw that she was charged $13 for an entire meal, including the omelet, even though she had asked for and received only the omelet.
I will update the review if we end up with food poisoning later...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible service! Went with my family for mother's day dinner. NO, they were NOT busy but the service was one of the worst experiences we've ever had! The waitress literally kept forgetting almost everything, my son wanted pickles with his burger, we would remind the waitress who then would walk away to get them then turn around and not come back and when she would, shed forget them AGAIN, not to mention my son doesn't like anything on his burgers except bacon, burger, cheese and pickles. We told them no ketchup, mustard, mayo or anything as my son does not like that stuff and they still put whatever sauce or something(we dk for sure) on it, my mom's food sat there ready to go for quite some time before they finally brought it to her while the rest of my family had their food, we paid for the salad bar just for them to start closing it down an hour before they closed. They did not tell us it would only be open for so much longer at the time when ordering. So money wasted there! Not to mention they started shutting lights off an hour before closing so of course we felt rushed. Last I knew, at big boy, each table has its own parmesan cheese. This entire place only had 1 so they had to pass it around to other tables????? š¤ All around it was one of the worst restaurant experiences my family and I ever had and I wouldn't go back there if it was the last big boy on the planet! The food was good but the service was horrible! I do NOT recommend this location!! Also, my mom ordered door dash from this location before and same thing with forgetting stuff. What is the pad of paper for then when writing down customers orders? š¤¦š»āāļø I'd give them 0 stars if at least 1 wasn't required to submit my review. Except the food. Very surprised that was even good even though the chicken looked burnt because of the dirty fryer! Never again for...
