Juan Blancos Tacos and Tequila — Restaurant in Fraser

Let me start off by saying, the uniform/pants, especially of the women, is absolutely disturbing and will do enough to make you lose your appetite. I’m all for supporting women and having body positivity, but geez, i would quit this job if i had to wear that. The pant choice color is so unflattering, not to mention you can see half of the girl’s underwear through their pants. Just change the pants to black and you’d be better off.

I walked in at 4:30 with a party of 9. They told me an hour and fifteen minutes. Multiple parties of 6-8 continued to walk in and be sat before us. We finally asked around 5:30 if we could just be sat at 2 separate tables, because it wasnt a big deal for us to sit together or be on the same checks. The hostess told us “No” because we wouldnt be sat at the same time. Immediately after that, 2 tables of 5 and 2 tables of 3 walked in and got sat….So we couldnt split up but then they can seat all of those people…okay? Finally got sat at 6pm. Shouldve just left as we originally planned around 5:15 but decided to give it a try.

As for the food, mediocre at best. I have had ton’s of better Mexican places than this in the area. Chips and Salsa were so-so. Chips were way too hard and had no flavor. Salsa was watery and flavorless. I ordered the quesobirria. It was just okay. I have had birria multiple times and this cheese tasted old. There was no onions as the menu stated. The rice that came along with it was so hard, it must have been sitting out for hours. As for the rest of my parties food, the only positive feedback was the fajitas. Everyone else agreed it was just OK, everyone’s food was cold. I understand this is a mexican restuarant, but the people bringing the food out could barely speak english so you couldnt understand them.

As for the service, absolutely terrible. The waiter we had was very nice, but never offered refills or came to check on us once we received our food. Simply set down the check halfway through our meal and never came back. He was also training someone, which couldve been part of the problem, but you would think with 2 people working on a table, you would get better service. Multiple things werent brought to the table that we ordered (side of tortillas, side of pico, side of sour cream) but we were still charged. When trying to get it taken off the bill, our server was no where to be found. But how would he even know we were missing stuff when we couldnt even come check on us.

Overall, everything was just okay and mediocre. Most likely won’t be coming back to this establishment considering I lost my appetite before even being seated at my table.

Tried them again. Just to split an order of Papas Con Chorizo . Cheese sauce was better although the amount of black beans seems to dwindle? Staff started out pretty good but once a girlfriend arrived and sat at a table service went down hill. Another sever refilled our beverages. Great alteration to their salsa. The salsa seems to evolve over time! lol

First, I would like to give five stars for the few items that we really really enjoy. However, I gave two stars because if I average out our experiences and some of the dishes we’ve had I would have to leave it at two stars. It’s always nice to get a new restaurant in the area. We were so excited to finally find a time where we could actually go in and just be seated. At our first visit my partner ordered the chicken enchiladas and I ordered a shredded beef burrito. Not very impressed with the enchiladas. The chicken was just OK. It was a very very ,did I say very, skimpy chicken enchilada dish with minimal chicken inside. I have to say the green enchilada sauce did not have much flavor either. Chips and salsa are all right . I am kind of picky when it comes to beans. The beans here just have a very unusual flavor. Almost as if there’s raw jalapeño or green pepper in it when they blend them? Just very unflattering flavor for me. The BIRRIA BURRITO was delicious. I asked for extra cheese which was very skimpy on top. Rice is okay. We were able to dine again a second time. My partner ordered tacos and I the same burrito. The meat my burrito was delicious. I asked to have meat only inside of my burrito. My burrito came with a menagerie of warm, guacamole and beans with no extra cheese. So it had to be remade which took quite some time. There’s one dish that we really really like ,PAPAS CON CHORIZO, fried with chorizo, queso dip, pico and guacamole. Yum! I have to say that’s probably our favorite and you really can’t get something like this at another Mexican restaurant so this would be a five star item the rest not too impressed! We were there on January 25th with a party of 10. There were two hostesses at the front, both had attitudes. We had reservations at 6:30 and had a child with us, which they knew when reservations were made, yet we still got seated at a high top table. When I asked to be seated at a low table, they said they were all reserved (we were there for about 3 hours and the low top table never had people seated at it). Once we made our drink orders, it took forever to get them out. We asked the waitress if we could put in my toddlers order before everyone else's so he could get his food first; she said no problem. She took his order and disappeared! Maybe 30 minutes later she came back to take everyone else's order, but never came back with our kids order. No one got refills on drinks because once she took the orders, she disappeared again. An hour later, we all get our food, except for my son. Not to mention that 2 orders were wrong! 1 order was completely wrong and my husband's order was dangerously wrong because we told her he had allergies to tomatoes and not to add Pico or guacamole, which his dish had both! 30 minutes later she comes back with my son's order. We tell her about the wrong orders and her response is so you want them done again, It's going to take a while, what do you want me to do? Unacceptable! None of us will be back again. We were literally at the restaurant for 3 hours and it was horrible service & wrong orders.
