Really wanted to like this place because it's close by, but I couldn't even get past the margaritas. My group of 4 came in and started off with some margaritas with different flavors and all were subpar.

The jalapeño margarita tasted like the jalapeños weren't muddled and it didn't have much of a spice.

The guava margarita had too much of the juice and the taste wasn't balanced out.

The mango margarita was probably the best out of the three, but still wasn't great overall.

My suggestion would be to have someone dedicated to making drinks behind the bar instead of having a server do it themselves, especially on a Friday evening when there is most likely more customers coming through the door.

Because we did not enjoy our drinks we ended up leaving early and did not get a chance to try the food.

Best Mexican food in Frederick, no contest. There are some other spots in town that have their high points, but Las Tunas is the most consistent and well rounded one. After countless trial and errors, the food and service here are undeniably the best in town. We have tried our fair share of menu items and have not been disappointed once. The fajitas, the tacos, the queso, the table salsa, the molcajete, enchiladas, vegetable chimichanga are all top tier. The meat is always tender, well seasoned and portioned perfectly. Our favorite is the Gigante Burrito, hands down. It has ALL the fixin's that you need from a Mexican spot all combined into one dish. Was looking for a Mexican Restaurant near the house and discovered this hole in the wall gem. Walked in and the place was exceptionally clean. The staff was friendly and they were running Taco Tuesday specials! We ordered some drinks and fajita nacho appetizer, pictured, that was excellent! The chicken and steak were tender and the shrimp tasted fresh. We ordered fajitas next and again, everything tasted fresh! The drinks were delicious and again couldn't be happier with the establishment. Prices were fair compared to other locals but still reasonable.
