I recently had the pleasure of trying Rita's Italian Ice Cream & Frozen Custard, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. Specifically, I had the opportunity to indulge in their heavenly frozen custard, and I was blown away by its rich and creamy goodness.

New pandemic protocol is you wait in your car. Attendant puts a laminated sign, with a number on it, on your windshield. They then ask you for your order. Attendant is in a facemask and face shield. They place order electronically. You then plug credit card in portable chip reader that attendant is holding. (No cash is accepted.) Receipt comes printed out. A few minutes later your Italian Ice order is delivered to your car. IT IS REALLY SUPER EFFICIENT!

Kudos to all those friendly, hard working young adults both outside taking your order and inside preparing your order. JUST REMEMBER TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE IT IS BEST FOR EVERYONE IN THE CAR TO WEAR A FACEMASK AS WELL. Also, note that there are no trash cans because of pandemic safety regulations so you will have to take your trash with you.

I've only had one less-than-stellar experience here, and it was only because the staff member wasn't able to answer my question and I wasn't able to order what I wanted (but what I did order was delicious!). Every other time I'm here (it's usually for mulitple people and I'm somehow elected to go, meaning I've got three credit cards and at least one cash order) the staff has been polite, friendly, and cheerful. The owner/franchisee is also very involved in the business Facebook page and very friendly.

The addition of 12 new rotating custard flavors and several new ice flavors (Banana custard! Pistachio custard! Raspberry Lemonade ice!!) has made a lot of people happy (I'm one, can you tell?) and widened the variety.
