Fresh Pickens Market — Restaurant in Fredericksburg

Local here! I’ve been coming to fresh Pickens about once every week or every other week for the last year or so (at their new location) and the quality/portion/care has gone very much downhill. For a $12 sandwich you’d think they’d give a hearty portion of chicken salad. The sandwich is pretty much just bread and soggy left. Like what?! Starting to feel more and more ripped off every time I come to the point where I feel I might need to start taking my business elsewhere. Hoping management sees this review in the hopes there will be a change, (this sandwich was purchased for me by someone else today or I would’ve brought my issues to the manager then and there). Cute shop. Never really been a place you go to have chats with staff or even a smile from them but it was no issue it’s not full service. Until I was asked repeatedly during a visit if I was sure I wanted a specific sandwich because it “too big” for one person and there was no one there for me to share with. I was taking it to go and why the size of myself and sandwich was ever brought up more than once was weird. Definitely doesn’t make me want to go back, but the food was good if the staff were more welcoming...

Locals love this place. Sandwiches are great, salads are yummy and convenient. In the warmer months, it’s a great place to pick up some fresh produce.
