I am writing to share feedback on my group’s recent visit to Pi Social for brunch this past Saturday. We were a party of ten and had been looking forward to our experience, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing from start to finish.
To begin, several of us ordered carajillos. When they arrived, they tasted nothing like they should — watered down, with no coffee or cold brew, almost entirely Licor 43. When we raised our concern with our server, she dismissed us, insisting they contained coffee without offering to remake or correct the issue.
When it came to the food, things only worsened. Five of us ordered chicken and waffles but were brought plates with French toast instead — which none of us had ordered. When we pointed this out, the server went to the window loudly told the kitchen to change them, but the same incorrect plates of French toast were brought back out. At that point, I asked if she could at least bring out the eggs I had ordered on the side. When she did, they were cold, as if they had been sitting out the entire time. I ended up not eating the eggs or French toast, and essentially only had the chicken portion of my plate.
The manager eventually came to our table, but he seemed unaware of what had happened and offered no apology or acknowledgement of the multiple mistakes and delays. At the end of our meal, when the checks were brought, we realized the server had actually rung in “chicken & not a waffle” instead of “chicken and waffles.” This explained why the kitchen never sent waffles in the first place. She admitted this was her mistake, yet we were still charged full price for the incorrect dishes and nothing was discounted or adjusted. On top of this, we were still expected to leave a 20% tip for service that was extremely disappointing. I understand that we were a large group, but I do not feel that gratuity should be automatic — it is something that should be earned, not assumed, especially when the service was far below standard.
Overall, the service, food, and drinks were well below what we had expected, and the lack of accountability or resolution made the situation even more frustrating. We chose Pi Social because of its reputation, and this was not the type of experience we anticipated. I felt it was important to bring this to your attention in hopes that it can be addressed for the sake of future guests.
I did email the manager,...
Read moreI placed a pickup order through DoorDash for this restaurant and drove about 20–30 minutes with my elderly grandparents to pick it up. When I got there, I was told they couldn’t find my order. After I explained that it was through DoorDash pickup, the response I got was, “oh, we don’t use that anymore.” If that’s the case, the option should not still be available online because my order went through just fine and I was charged for it.
Another employee then came over and told me the order was going to be canceled. At that point, I asked if I could just place an order in person since I had already made the trip and was standing right there, and I was told no, that they were “too busy.” So after driving that far with my grandparents — who don’t get out much and were looking forward to this meal — we had no food at all and had to turn around and leave.
The most frustrating part is that this wasn’t an error on my end. It was entirely on theirs. Out of good faith and basic customer service, they should have honored the order anyway instead of sending us away empty-handed. Mistakes happen, but how a business chooses to handle those mistakes is what defines them. In this case, it felt careless and dismissive, and it left us disappointed and upset after wasting our time, money, and gas.
If they no longer use DoorDash, the listing needs to be removed immediately. And more importantly, management needs to step up and teach staff how to handle these situations better. A customer who has already paid and driven that far shouldn’t be punished for a restaurant’s oversight. It would have gone a long way if they had just taken responsibility and made...
Read moreThis restaurant gave us the run around and would not honor a reservation that was made weeks in advance! We had a large party of 12 and they basically refused to serve us. We paid for 2 Ubers and showed up BEFORE our designated time, which should have been 6:30. They tried to tell us that we booked for the wrong location (Midland) but we told them that no, we did in fact book in Fredericksburg. They asked to show the accommodation and we did, which was a back and forth email thread between one of our ladies in the party and supposed owner Enrique. It was proven that we DID book the Fredericksburg location. The time and date were correct as well. The two young girls at the front scoffed while we scrambled to make other plans all while eating a hamburger at the hostess stand??? Like full blown grub mode.. I’ve never seen that before while on the clock! We waited around for probably 10-15 mins to see if we could be accommodated but instead were basically told “oops our bad”. So we paid for a second uber to a different restaurant, Fredericksburg Brewery, who was more than fine with accommodating our party. Fredericksburg Brewery doesn’t even accept reservations and still accommodated us! We looked forward to dining at PI Social but the attitudes from the hostess, manager, and owner made all 12 of us feel completely unwelcome. None of us will ever return to...
