We arrived at 6:45 on a Saturday evening for a birthday celebration (6 in our party). We spent about 3 hours there...had to ask for water, more ice to chill our white wines and since this was our FIRST visit we expected to be given all the details of how this works...had to ask several times and then received minimal information. We had to ask how long to cook things and eventually someone brought out a chart (that should have been given to us before we started cooking) The portions are large, I shared the $57 Three course meal with my daughter and we had a hard time eating all of it.
We started with the Hill Country Peach Salad...we had high hopes of there being fresh peaches but instead they seemed to be from a can instead...disappointing...the Blue Cheese crumbles didn't really go well with the salad or the dressing...Personally, I would ask to have no Blue Cheese next time.
The first course of cheese dip came with a lot of bread (which I don't eat much of anyway) about 6 baby carrots, 3 broccoli florets, some chunks of bell pepper, red & green grapes and some green apple chunks. We chose the Spinach Artichoke blend, it was just OK, cheese didn't melt very well and the flavor was not what we expected.
For the second course (meats) we ordered the Steak Favorites, the pieces were not uniform and the peppered sirloin had WAY TOO MUCH pepper! So much that I only ate 1/2 of one piece...they need to tone that down a tad or offer "lightly peppered" for those folks to don't just LOVE pepper. We also received a bowl of mushroom caps & potato halves (put the potatoes in first!) You almost have to cook the meat for 1 - 2 minutes only, otherwise it is tough. I like my steak rare to medium rare, I figured out the timing on my own...TIP bring your phone and use your timer app.
The third course was the chocolate, we chose the dark chocolate which came with a very nice assortment of goodies to dip! This was my favorite part of the meal...wish I had only paid for this course, but I wanted the full experience...next time, if there is one, I will go for dessert only.
My husband and I own a guesthouse in town that is very close to this restaurant, I'm not sure we will recommend this to our guests...maybe for dessert...it is a neat experience if you have never done it, but I wouldn't make this a "go to" place...
Read moreGreat fondue place that can accommodate a table for two or a table for twelve and everything in-between. The decor is nice and there's indoor and outdoor seating. There's a lot of different options so you can find something on the menu that anyone can enjoy. I'm usually vegan but decided to be vegetarian for my visit to Fredericksburg and Simply Dipped is one of the few places that serve vegetarian options. The service was great and the owner Wayne was very nice, attentive, and friendly! We ordered the spinach artichoke brie fondue to start and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly seasoned and addictive! We were given baby carrots, raw broccoli, green apples, tortilla chips, and both French and marble rye bread to dip in the cheese. All the options paired perfectly, with my personal favorites being the green apples and the rye bread. Then I ordered Hill Country Peach salad which was also delicious! All the ingredients tasted fresh and the peach vinaigrette dressing was fantastic. The last option was like a soup hotpot. We had the veggie lovers option which came with plenty of delicious vegetables to cook in the broth. Once again, the veggies were fresh and the broth was great! I talked to the owner and it turns out that Simply Dipped Fondue had only been open a little over a month at the time of my visit. It's cool to discover a place before it blows up and becomes really popular! All the food was phenomenal and next time I'll definitely have to get dessert! I wish them all the best luck and I will absolutely return...

I haven't had fondue for over 20 years and I thought it would be a great date idea for my 18yo son and I to experience together. I was right! He enjoyed it very much!

So the cheese dip was my very favorite part of the meal. We choose the beer cheese with garlic... 🤤 Yummm. Comes with bread, apples, grapes, and veggies to dip.
Photos will show the meat and seafood entrees. Fresh and great cuts of meat and fish!
We chose the turtle chocolate fondue... Oh my!! Strawberries, bananas, pound cake, brownies, rice krispies
Pros -it's fun and a unique way to enjoy your meal. Service was quick and attentive. Great date night experience.
This establishment has moved locations and is located in a strip mall. It's small and not a lot of parking, but your can make your reservations right on their website. Vibe is cozy with a retro vibe. Each table has it's own induction burner built into it which I thought was very cool!
Recommendations/suggestions -Use fresh baked sourdough bread for dipping -have an all fruit option for the dessert fondue -offer gluten free options
I'm glad this place is here in Fredericksburg. It's a unique dining experience and worth checking out! The prices are right. They offer adult beverages & mocktails. Go with a small group of friends or on a date and you'll enjoy...
