I recently had the pleasure of dining at Arora, a newly opened Indian restaurant in Freehold, NJ, and it exceeded all expectations! Located inside a plaza, the restaurant’s beautifully designed interior is both warm and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable dining experience.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and seated by the manager, Johnny, who shared that Arora is a secondary location to the well-known Royal Ganesha. Our server, Marvin, provided exceptional service, with an attention to detail that truly stood out and made us feel incredibly welcomed.
The food was simply outstanding. We started with the Baingan Bharta, a delicious vegetarian dish featuring charcoal-grilled eggplant, rich in smoky flavor and perfectly prepared. The Anjeer Kofte quickly became my favorite—an amazing blend of sweet and spicy flavors, with delightful bursts of sweetness from the figs. It was truly unforgettable. We also ordered the Mixed Grill Platter, which was cooked to perfection, with each piece of meat tender, flavorful, and well-seasoned.
The combination of impeccable service, incredible food, and a welcoming ambiance makes Arora a must-try. If you’re a fan of Royal Ganesha, you’ll love this spot. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreI live down the shore and in the summertime going out to a restaurant on the weekend can be challenging especially on a Saturday night do to the influx of people. Since I live near the shore I decided I would go inland some to avoid the crowds. Living near Belmar I went inland to Freehold. I wanted to try something new and with another couple we went to Aroro’s Indian Bistro Restaurant. We were all a little apprehensive but I checked them out online and their menu looked interesting. I had reservations for 6:30. We were greeted at the door by ‘Ajay’ , hope I spelled his name correctly, to our table. He proved to be a most gracious host and server. We all tried out different dishes, I had a lamb stew in a hot sauce that was out of this world. All our party was pleasantly surprised at the outstanding cuisine before us. More than enough for each of us, the girls even took some home. The decor was modern because they are recently opened everything looked pristine. The service was great, the food outstanding. If you want a good restaurant experience try this...
Read moreGood food, but shady business practices. I’ve both dined at the restaurant and ordered take out at Arora. The food is good to great. But the management/ownership could use improvement. One evening I enjoyed Chicken Tariwalla Kukkad dining in and order the same for takeout. The takeout portion was a much smaller portion than the in house portion, each at $23. I decided to try again as I was craving good Indian food and it IS good. I spent $92 plus tip and was puzzled at my receipt which stated “All Prices include Credit Card Fees and do not represent a cash discount.” Yet each item I’d ordered was charged a “Processing fee.” When I asked the server manning the counter I was told it was the owner and others have complained. He suggested I write a note to the owner including my phone number, which I did. No response. Fortunately we have several good Indian restaurants to choose from in the Howell/Freehold area. Sadly despite the good food, this place leaves...
